Gear / Re: Axle/Hub for Henry's Circus from Czech Republic
« on: April 15, 2010, 03:50:13 PM »

these are hubs I have done. And yes I am from Czech republic.
I do not have any on stock now, because I discontinued their production like year ago, but if you are really interested I can do new ones for you. But if I do so I would need to do more of them at once (they are done on CNC machine and to set the machine is very expensive part of production.. the more of them I do at once, the cheaper they are) . So if you find more people interested in buying those (let's say for 10 diabolos) I can produce some. The price would be 12Eur for a kit + postage

Here are few photos of hubs and rings I have done:

as for the comparison,
gold edition
are st. like 52g and they are bit longer than mine.
Gold edition sticks are first of all totally transparent in light and have wider handles. Because the transparent acryl works like a glass fiber, where the fiber leads the light throught it, they glow mostly at the ends. The handles then works like light diffusor. As you can see for instance in "liquid lights" they glow mainly in the handels, which are mostly hidden in your palms. During genocides, the golden edition is slightly better visible than my sicks.

My sticks
are made from fluorescent acryl (the same material, which is used for crystal balls and Golden edition sticks) and because they are transparent, but coloured, they are emiting light uniformly.
So far I have juggled 3 times with them outside (each time like 20min), I hit diabolo during minigenocides and I hit the ground several times as well and so far, they are working and in mint condition.

They will definitely not be ready for the show next week :)

I cant provide really detailed pictures now and anyway, these stuff shown here now are prototypes. When I decide to make them in hundreds, I will make them even more precise and provide pics of them here later.

The diods for diabolos displayed in the picture above, will be made from less pieces without nuts, diods will be covered form sides in order to avoid damage on them. And as I hope I make the diods to start glowing automatically when you attach them on the magnetic holder. So far I have had no issue with droping diods from diabolo during juggling. The magnet there is so powerful, that it withstand fall from 15m and maybe more (I can not throw higher).
The magnetic holder is 7g (each side) and the diods are 20g (each side)
In future I plan to make bearing holders (revolution kit) and holographic reflectors which will be attachable on the magnetic holder as well. The advantage of this system is, that you dont need to remove the holders for normal juggling. But you can easily attach other stuff on it in a moment.

I hope it is now clearer for you.

If you have some special wishes and ideas, just tell me..

Hi there,

During holidays I had a lot of night performances with diabolos and I started to be bored with my lighting finesses, so I decided to made my own revolution stuff. I promised myself I do lighting sticks good as none before and I had an idea how to make kind of "plug and play" leds for diabolos. Now I can say I did it.

I have new glowing sticks, which glow even more in UV. They have fantastic 31g each and they are 27cm long.

I Have new revolutionary leds for diabolos as well. They can be easily attached in one second, because they are magnetic. I think they are good enought to be made in mass production.
So I want to hear your reasponses. And if they are possitive I start with producing and selling them.

It makes me laugh! They are just totally the same as my new red Henry's Visions. The difference is only in hubs  :-D

Gear / Re: Henrys Diabolo Vision a new Diabolo from Henrys
« on: August 14, 2009, 06:32:30 PM »
I have three of those too and I can say they are very good diabolos, but only after attaching some tuning set on them, which makes them wider and slightly heavier. With my own made tuning set (like giant ones but without the small shelf near the iron ring), heavier pads with holographic foil and heavier nuts they are now just amazing. I have to point out, that without any tuning set they are very light and uncontrollable. The comparison between tuned and non-tuned ones is whooping, especially when running more diabolos. They are made to be tuned! The advantage of the Vision is the height (not the diameter) which is just right after tuning, not like the Cirkus which is too wide with tuning set.

What I like about Visions is, that some of the Vision's colours are striking and conspicuous, what makes them ideal for performance.

What I don't like about them, is their stiffness and short spinning time (they would need 20 more grams around the edges and rubber feel to be almost perfect)

Here is my little dimension comparison:

Vision non-tuned:
240 g
127 mm diameter
121 mm height

Vision with tuning:
255 g
127 mm diameter
133 mm height

300 g
130 mm diameter
133 mm height

Finesse 3G
245 g
133 mm diameter
130 mm height

After a while I played again with my slow motion camera and created 4 channels diabolo video with some weird tricks. I am sorry that everything is not so smooth as normal, but its so hard to hide mistakes in the slow motion  ;)
here we are in HD:
vimeo (for HD play it directly on - Slowly
download - 1280 x 720 HD ; 114 MB

And here is a bonus [noembed][/noembed]
which was shot just after EJC in Karsruhe, but it had taken me some time before I edited it and posted it (few months ago). It was shot during Bejing olympics so there was a connection and it should have been more like fun, but because its not up to date anymore it's not so funny now. Don't pressupose that there are some tricks too learn. It was just a fun making it. Anyway it worth wathing it, even in spite of bad resolution.

Sorry for the delay, but I have spent another week in the Spain without an internet access. In either case, the original picture of the CA meeting from EJC 2009 is here. Later I will place loads of pictures from the EJC on my site and perhaps some videos as well. If I have a vast hosting space I will place there too some videos from last year, which I thought had been lost. Fortunately they are still alive :)

and thanks to Jakob for posting the preview from his UMPC

One more comment.
I forgot one song which was used. The classical piece of music over there is "Song of Mable" composed by Tadasuke (Japanese) and played on theremin (first electrosynthetic musical instrument in the world)

good video! and some interesting vertax ideas to make the void's mouth water.

really nice slack at 2:30 - can't quite see what's happening, though. would you care to explain...?

well if you know the "trash's web" trick, this is based on the same movement but in this one you throw the string around the stick. one bend of the string is in the middle of the left stick the second one is just before it (oo string near the top of the left stick). Finaly you release the whole left stick and its hanging in air.. I think I will use some variation on this trick in the next movie, so you will see

Ah, well, fair enough! back on topic, its a biut low quality, but cool!

Yes, and I am sorry about the poor quality, but everithing was captured by handy camera with low framerate and resolution. The quality on the web is far less tha same as uncompresed version in my computer. We will try next time to borrow videocam. And you can be sure that we still have some more tricks in storage, so you can be looking forward to it.

thats it. Exactly it gves the forum  :o a bit more :o of a structure. But is it desirable? For me who want to go trought all the posts its just 4 time more windows in browser to open to check it all. I am cerebrateing about the old one thread forum and I dont think there were a mess with those sinewy icons.
I know that if you have spent such a long time with transition from old to new forum you wouldnt be happy to unmake it, so dont do it but just ask the people whether they want the multithread. Its wasteing time to do something new without "vox populi"

15 Policy & Feedback / I want old forum back
« on: September 21, 2006, 07:26:23 PM »
I really want the old one board forum back. It used to be much more transparent for user who want to read all of the posts.
And even more, the icons are muchness.
On the other hand there is great new stuff like better security and recent posts.
I thing there is a possibility to make two versions with one board and multiboard system as now.  ??? :'(

Gear / Length of sticks
« on: July 29, 2006, 10:45:20 PM »
I got 28 cm and they are great. And I know its only about habbit, so juggle with whatever you want. Just one advice, dont change often the length of the sticks its the worst you can do when juggle. The stick must be part of your hand and you have to know in subconscious where the hand ends.

It was marvelous. I realy love this style. I can honestly say that ist one of the best diabolo movies I have ever seen. It realy doesnt metter if there is just one diabolo and maybe there is a lot of trick which are realy easy to do but main is the result and its imposing.
I just hope not everybody now want to do the same, because its so nice if its extraordinary and unusual. So keep the eye and just wonder about diabolo frenzy

I like this infinity.. I call it infinite trapeze.. I do it maybe for year and some times ago I realized that this is a way to do infinity suicide in excalibour.. I have done mayhap 5 rotations in excalibour. The point is that its necessary to keep the diabolo moving(for any type of excalibour). And in this way the diabolo is moving rapidli fast.. Just start with the trick as in the video and then start with slanting.. And it works

Tricks / Re: I just learnt to... (2006)

But this sfan rocketstart is bit different because the diabolos doesnt leave string from start to end

Gear / Re: Bearing
« on: February 22, 2006, 08:18:00 PM »
Thats right but anyway I realy dont recomend the bearing diabolos of any type to anybody because it realy spoil everybodys style. And if you use to use it you have a problems than to work with normal axel diabolo. And you can trust me that you can do more and beter tricks with normal axel. So there is no reason to use it.
