Tricks / Re: Two Handed Diabolo Siteswap Notation
« on: October 14, 2015, 11:27:58 PM »
On 2d word sun is used for patterns based on two handed four beat siteswap pattern 312s2s .

I arrived to same conclusin as Samuli about suns (please check link below).
In case that it could be of interest, let me drop a link to the article (in Spanish, sorry) in which I suggested using the right depth of notation according to the degree of complexity of a juggling sequence (original article was published on 2010. I hope you can understand it using a translator.

Simply great. Thanks!!
Idon't agree with Crackers (my favourite is still 'Asam', for whatit meant to me!) but I agree with the ppl: the video is amazing and the idea behind is fresh, but now I couldn't tell how many soft-vibe videos in the mountains you have or what was in which of those videos. That's why I enjoyed the videos with the combos in a house so much;because they looked different.

Question: All those trick are performed without bearings? :O

Wow...delicious short-film and diabolo, with so much fine taste and skills for both. You definitely make a great team and diabolo-wise this is —again— ground-breaking. Congratulations.

The tricks look so perfect that they seem to be unreal, indeed. How the Jarle using bearing diabolos?

Shouldn't the inertia ring be at the widest part, near to the rim?

Why to make things complicated, boy? :)
I can't update Java from my office and it's where I prepare the print&fun series. Your upload would also help to strengthen and let us download you clips quickly, in case we want to watch it off line or frame by frame. It's good to learn and share together and good for you to spread the video too! Come on, do us the favour! ;)

Downloadable version? (in, maybe) :)

Gear / Re: Length of string in absolute scale
« on: January 22, 2014, 01:05:06 PM »

Before it's too late, can we turn this into a proper formular (googledocs?) and then extract interesting statistics about it. How strong is the correlation between height and string-length, for instance.

I could help.

Tricks / Re: Minigenocides behind the back
« on: January 22, 2014, 10:59:29 AM »
I'm glad for that, Graham!

For the ones who dare to turn back the body and not change the plane of the diabolo:
You can also try to do only do half a turn and do the geno facing back. It must feel strange because the diabolo and stick are going to spin in the other direction (in relation with us), but it would look great for the audience.
Anyway, I'll be looking forward to the continous genos. For now, M4U has got the closest!  :-*

M4U has got it* and it looks great! * It was a single geno, not continuous but it's on the right way! :D

You're getting close, Will.
Now try to go for the real: arms raised and face forward! :D

Thanks Henri, Graham and all those who are training this now. It's an old idea, but it has a future!

Although I like the trick, I'm afraid that Henri's idea is nothing new  :embarassed:. Many people have been doing that genocide for many years. I was personally playing with it quite much some years ago ( 1:23).

The idea I posted is nothing original either, but it's a suggestion for a true step up. Continuous genos btb would open a new door for crazy integral and gen combinations!

Thank you for your efforts. I'll be very please to see it!

It's been a while for "Hasta el cielo" :P !
Because of technical and technical reasons, I couldn't finish the project and release it on DVD*.
That's why I have decided to make public the rest of the videos and created 3 playlists so you can watch like a real DVD ;) The film is 1h40min, all for free! I hope you enjoyed as much as we did when making it:

*The incomplete things are:
The corrected subtitles (by a native english) are in my broken hard disk.
Besides what I can recover in my outdated back up, everything is... indeed, in my broken hard disk :D

fun! Thank you for these small challenges. The basket, the cahir balance and the foot turning off the lights while doing 4 diabolos are my favourites!

Many times expressing your way, Arjan. And too many the best intentions, acid humor and no offense, but too many times offending other people. There's never a excuse to insult somebody if he/she doesn't take as you want/ expect. Empathy only comes through friendship.
I'm sorry if you weren't meant to be offensive, it wasn't even that bad this time!  I remember some others and in this one you've controlled yourself pretty well.
I don't want another Arjan, really,  I just want another moderator.

I like the 5 diabolos high pattern by Ofek!
I don't like his attitude! But his attitude still meets the rules of the forum, so it's AN OPINION
I don't like Arjan's attitude with other diabolists! And his attitude is sometimes, like this one, insulting to other particular jugglers. That's forbidden by the rules of this forum. That's not an opinion, but a COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT of use here, that you accept when creating you account. It has not been the first nor the 20th time, so I think the forum should go without him, after so many slander and such a bad reference for the community and especially the new young comers. Please stop excusing the lack of respect in this forum by its Moderator,  in spite of your OPINIONS.

I've been thinking already  sometimes about leaving this forum just because of that. I haven't seen such a thing in any other forum. I came here in 2004 and I have seen the change. I believe this behaviour has already gone on for so long that, if administration doesn't react at all,  it will soon be time to close my account and simply check from time to time to see if there's still something interesting over here.

I've been following you progress since the beginning. I have to say this is....amazing.
I've never seen a girl performing 3d tricks like you before. You've simply taken us over so easily with your classical super-mood!!
