Thanks everybody... or at least 4 people. Here is a second video, of a single audience version.
The awesome drum solo was replaced with a lame dance (which i cut from the video) and excuse the bad lighting.
Notes - if you don't like traditional circus, or enjoy only high level technical acts... this is not for you.
Voila, the single audience adaptation.

Audience 2 sides is very hard, especially with diabolo. But diabolo from the side is extremely uninteresting. Plus I choose tricks which were 1) reasonably visible from the back, or 2) turned around. 2 diabolos at a 45 degree angle to best please the most amount people at once.

Most people don't realize 2 diabolos is even possible, they seemed to enjoy it very much when I started. I don't see a problem with the build up (would have taken 15 minutes in a street show)

Hey everybody! It's surely been a while since I posted on here. I have been not practicing diabolo for a long time, but about a month ago I was offered a summer contract outdoors in a cool production with live music and 2 sides and stuff. Unfortunately rings don't go well outdoors, so I decided to use the magical powers of... diabolo-is-easy-enough-that-even-after-not-practicing-for-a-couple-of-years-I-can-still-do-everything. Here is my 5th performance of a routine created to a piece of music given to me, and written in around one hour (wow, I wonder if I could undersell this any more! I just feel somewhat shy in the diabolo community now...)
Also includes my first ever attempt at 3 diabolos on stage (AND a rather impressive correction-fest before it)

I have to ask. Did you submit this year?

Nah. I only filmed 1 diabolo trick this year, and it went in the Turbo video.
Let me know when next years comes around... I'll see how my diabolo is.

A Fantastic selection of points there.
The Turbo videos were my first attempt at something collaborative. All those different cameras and formats and shapes and ARGH!! (thank toast for having an AMAZING convert-everything-in-the-world-to-one-format-freely-imported-straight-into-FCP-without-needing-of-renderage)
Then when everything was together in one place, choosing what works and what doesnt and for the music and which angles look to similar. All these things which are much easier when it's just your video - because you take the time to variate, and to find nice places and frame well and everything - then when you receive everything from other people and it's just not the same.
In the process, some things get left out. And with no intention, I actually left out ALL the clips from one person, some of which were really good. I just never found a place to put any, they just didn't fit. Then i got to the end and oops!
Turns out I have enough clips left over to make another probably 3 minute video*
It happens.

Norbi - who will hopefully be included again in a future collab
*which I won't

Yes that is indeed what I was looking for. But "76 reads and no one cares?" Is equally useful  ;)

As for you Dennis - there are currently talks of a Turbo summer fest. I'll keep you all posted on anything like that.

It's not just juggling. It's freakin hard. from 5 rings throw a 6x59(ish) with the 9 forward a little. The timing drops into sync, do a sync 2up180, then go into 6x4 as the 9 bounces off the floor and comes blindly (yet perfectly) back into my hand.

Do you wanna come yet?

Since I came to Québec, I've been taken under the wing of the Turbo418 crew.  They are some of the best people you'll ever meet, and have made my stay here nothing less than awesome so far.

And now they've asked me to announce their 3rd TurboFest.
From 9-11 of January 2009, in sunny* Québec, Canada.

Let me start with a list of thing you can expect...
- 24 hour juggling
- crazy high ceilings
- on site food (including vegetarian) and drink (including alcoholic)
- on site sleeping
- lots of great games with high-quality medals, trophies and prizes
- the entire Turbo418 crew, and all the familiar convention faces
- Gong-show style renegade
- JuggleJam
- live DJs in the gym
- dedicated volley-club area
- as well as A LOT of combat!

And all complimented with an amazing show, including...
- Thomas Dietz (being Thomas!)
- Norbi (presenting a re-mixed and heavily schooled ring routine)
- Gabriel Beaudouin (home-grown high level awesome from Québec)
- Doug Sayers (premiering his brand-new stage routine)
- Other circus acts from l'École de Cirque de Québec, and l'École National de Québec.
- Turbo418 are also in negotiations with other artists, including Ivan Pecel and les 7 doigts de la main!

Not convinced yet? Just watch the video..

Prices are $35 for pre-reg, and $40 on the door.
For 3 days, 24 hour juggling, use of sleeping space, and entry to all shows and workshops.
Pre-reg, along with this year's t-shirts, will be coming soon to the website.

There's also a Facebook group to join
And you can all let us know you're coming by adding your name to the Facebook event

And finally - Be sure to bring plenty of warm clothes, it gets pretty cold in Québec in January!

Hope to see you all there.
*actual weather may vary.

Good job sire! The time just flew by.
Well done to all of the awesome people who did awesome shiz (including editing).

Looking forward to posting again sometime next year.
