I reckon this has just enough Vux in it to stay clear from the offtopic forum. Just stumbled across this, though I think it's been on R.J for quite a while. Lots of familiar faces and locations.

« on: May 22, 2008, 04:20:03 PM »
I just got an interesting email:

'Oddballs has just released Instant Diabolo DVD

In nine separate teaching sections, top UK diabolists Garner, Langerz & Pete Tomsett take you through all the tricks you need to learn. And to keep you enthused, the video is mixed with many high-skill freestyle sections and two bonus bits featuring surprise star performers. Over 50 minutes of first-class diabolo instruction and inspiration - now that`s entertainment !

For the next two weeks (up to 6th June) we are giving away free to any diabolo order a copy of our latest diabolo DVD - Instant Diabolo'

Anyone care to offer some more info? Maybe from the top diabolists themselves ;)

Community & Events / London meet up: Saturday 27th October
« on: October 24, 2007, 01:11:00 PM »
Me, Ben, and  Matt, are thinking of meeting up at london Southbank this Saturday for a juggle session. Would anyone else be interesting in coming along to make it a large meet, doesn't necesarily have to just be diabolists, any other jugglers are welcome :)

Theres a big park just near the London eye which would be a good place, also theres the skate park just next to it.

There are alot of members on this forum who belong to various juggling retailers or who produce equipment for diabolists. This thread can be used to suggest ideas for fututre prodcuts, improvements, ideals and preferences which could be added or introduced to the current diabolo set, whether technological or aesthetical. hopefully this thread will help manurfacturers see what diabolists really want.

I'll start it off:

1) Inspired by the ideas suggested with the 'fly' diabolo; Different coloured hubs and washers could be produced for mainstream diabolos like the 'Finesse' or 'Circus' so that the diabolo could remain one colour. White versions would be especialy useful for 'Finesse' as your equipment would match as a set if you chose white carbons over black. Or alternatively, a wider variation of handstick colours.

Tricks / Multiplex Starts 2-4 High
« on: August 03, 2007, 11:02:21 AM »
How do you do Multiplex starts? What is the correct way to throw the diabolos and to what height? Should they be thrown staggered? Where do you hold the diabolos on your arm/hand for 3-4 high starts? Are there any other techniques needed?

-Thanks in advance

Here is a video of the 2007 European Juggling Convention in Athens which I filmed during the first 2 days. Look out for Ofek's 4 high to low and Mr Babache on the left.
I am not in the video :)
Its not great quality but you can still see whats happening.

I think the music is very fitting :D

Tricks / 2d Duicides
« on: January 25, 2007, 06:04:27 PM »
I was wondering how you do 2d Duicides because they look amazing! :o At the moment I'm putting both sticks into one hand and doing the normal 1d duicde movement with 2d but the diabolos sometimes collide and the sticks seem to spin around very fast. Am I doing it right?

Tricks / Another 2d help request
« on: January 02, 2007, 09:41:34 PM »
I can get the async shuffle going pretty well (apart from the fact that my arms get tired) but every couple of tries I find that after a while of shuffling the diabolos seem to be tilting forward. I know how to correct the diabolos if they turn to the left or right but im not sure how to tilt them back so that they are flat again. Anyone know how I can solve this?

Tricks / 2d with Evo Kit 1?
« on: January 01, 2007, 05:00:07 PM »
Is it possible to learn 2 diabolos with the Evolution Kit 1 (Finger Axle) in each diabolo? And if yes, is it easier to learn with the normal axle?

Gear / Light Kits for White Finesse G2
« on: December 23, 2006, 06:13:23 PM »
Firetoys claims that a light kit for a white Finesse G2 diabolo will not illuminate the whole diabolo because it is opaque. Does anyone have any pictures or videos they can post below to show me how they look different from normal light kits and if they look any good. thx.
