Kinda close ^^ , the problem with that start is that in order to shuffle 3 in the 4D hover the left hand needs to move up and down which would screw up the one in the left hand

Won't take another guess save my curiosity for the next vid. :)

They are all spinning  ;)

P.S It is a different one to the one I was working on back in EJC 2014, after a year of trying that one I gave up on it, this one might still work once in a thousand times but at least it's more than never

Can I guess...hand + leg stall then stopover right handstall into 3D shuffle with left handstall still holding the fourth then grab fifth and hover start like 4D but with fifth ready to go in from the left? Am I close? Very curious. :)

Crazyness. At 3D a while back I thought the limit was reached. At 4D surely this must be it...then you go and film this. Looking really smooth at points too. The 64 I don't even... :o

PS: I wanna see the first 5 low self start someday :P

Just a reply not intended to take away focus from Ronnies awesome video/achievement but this looks promising for a self start (4 minutes in):

I love the concept (having played with two sets of sticks but not been crazy or good enough to do so vertically). Possible to accelrate in infinite suicide enough to keep it going?

Or figure out a way to a small version of a grinder on the end of a handstick (or have it drop from the ceiling if on stage or something if cable needs to be attached) or a handheld version, put it against the axle, grind away and don't run out of speed.

Man I need to go sometime. 10 years worth of greatness. Kiitos.

I know I need a hint. The song is familiar, but I've lost most of the videos I used to save from 2004-2007. My guess it that it's from around 2006.

It's a 2004 video so a bit earlier even. Pre youtube though it's on there now. Just need to google the diabolists name to find it. ;)

Juggler is french and the video was mainly focused on three diabolos (very technical at the time containing an early instance of a 3 low string control trick, 42 high drop to instant low [idk what the siteswap is called :embarassed:] and high/"mid high" cascade). Has a thread on the forum that lead into early discussions about 3d low cascades.

If another hint is needed it's below here:

If still too difficult...another french juggler (member of MFP) has written some of his quite few posts on here in the thread and you can find the thread immediately on google by searching his name too (along with ;)

^Excuse the dots needed to improvise a spoiler function for this last hint. If no hit this time I'll spill the title.

I'm New / Re: Why does my Diabolo (with bearing) wobble?
« on: September 23, 2015, 05:09:35 AM »
Ah I see. Thought he/she was maybe trying to do an "anti bearing trick" (like how kids I've lent my diabolo to have "tried vertax" by swinging it wildy around) or that the bearing side was simply unmarked (which seemed weird). My bad TS. ;)

Thank you. It turns out that when using a diablo with a bearing, there is only one way that bearing will turn. So when I start it in the direction it turns I have no problem, but when I try to start it against the bearing, it wobbles violently.
so err...why do you start it against the bearing at all? If you can't make out which cup is supposed to be towards you mark it out somehow (usually done by different color washers).

Fun, fun thread...and an oppurtunity to revisit the past ten years or so of videos and the evolution of modern diabolo. :)  A man's chew!

my turn (also old one):  :)

Eric and Antonin "Of Baguettes and Diabolos"

Quite easy tbh...since I watched that video a LOT. Antonins 2x 1x stopover is a trick I've "stolen" and is to this day (modified with a lifted piroute over left shoulder before the simultaneous stepovers into kneeling position) one of my favorite 2D tricks/combos. Easy and elegant trick, thanks for the reminder to watch it again and thanks and props to Antonin for that very sweet trick especially. 8)

Iirc the music in this clip was also changed at some point (for copyright reasons [delaying Diabology way back when])? I don't remember if the original song is in this one, on Diabology or if this is the same as on the DVD as I haven't watched Diabology in years now:

^Seeing your oldschool and raising you with...some more oldschool. ;) Hints/answer can ofcourse be provided if nobody can guess it as the difficulty might be cranked.

Performances / Re: Land of the Angles - diabolo video

Idk why (I think it's the straight elbow angle :-D and the "flick" movement of sorts you do to pull it around) but I really like the look of your 1D sun during feeds. It looks really powerful and unique.

Some tricks I haven't actually seen before in here. Can't say anything about your progress (because I haven't seen your stuff before) I can just say your level is good in general. Especially nice looking feed combinations.

Very..."Ceri-Anne-esque" in a way (with a slight feel of 5A yoyo). Definitely cool 8)

Still like to ask if you plan on making the stick part in any other material besides wood?

Awesome style (I'll try to steal that knot at 2:28 heads up hehe :-D). Avoiding facebook like the plague though so hope you post more here as well.

Simple ideas are often the best. Looks awesome.

Both those links worked thanks a lot for sharing it's good experimental stuff and ideas. With all the strings I'm a bit reminded of a puppeteer watching you. :)

^Same-o. :-D

And that's how it went a few years later with "Cie Avisto" in 2005...

"This clip is private"...but remember seeing something like this before this thread so must be this one of yours. Is it uploaded someplace else?

Damn impressive. Could just grab it with your mouth on the second roll back and troll any audience when it no longer rolls off by a headtilt. :-D

These look like awesome fun. Will they be made in other materials at some point? Not too keen on switching (back) to woodsticks.

The name combined with look of the handles tricked me completely though. I thought the handles would be able to be disconnected and slide freely across the stick (maybe with a twist lock at the top of them to keep them in place). I'm claiming that idea then. :-D
