Gear / Re: String Problem!
« on: July 23, 2007, 07:47:56 PM »
Well, maybe is the length of the string not the problem with 2D, but i'll figure that out later. Widen my arms helps a littlebit, but I have to be very fast with grabbing the right stick back and then I have to move my arm really fast to get the diabolo up a bit, and then I have to correct it. Impossible if you ask me.
My string is too smooth now, and I just don't know how to get it more rough. I thought if I wet the string a bit, it would help, but it doesn't. To accelerate endless doesn't help too...
But there are more people that got Henry's Fluo and if they change string after some days, they don't have to do all this, I think so... Is there an other way to get my string rough?

Thanks for the reply. I think you're right. I am going to do the loop accleration for an hour, and I hope it works. For the length of string. I think it's the good size for 2D. But I just don't know because I can't do it now :P.

Gear / String Problem!
« on: July 23, 2007, 05:11:55 PM »
Hi guys,

A few days ago, I've bought some Henry's Alu's, Finesses and 25m Henry's Fluorcolor string. I am very happy with my new gear and I did after half an hour a 2D Shuffle which I never done before.   8) A few minutes ago I've placed my new Henry's Fluorcolor string instead of the standard white (grey?) string which always was on the Alu's. I've placed a standard double knot in and it is now noselength instead of schoulderlength. I've replaced it because I thougt that my old string was getting dirty and it was a bit too short for doing a good 2D Shuffle. But If I am doing the wrap/wind up start the second diabolo just falls down and I haven't got time enough to speed it up and let it climb a bit.  ???  I haven't had this problem before and I'm a bit ''shocked'' about this. Before I had 4m of the Fluorcolor string and it was great string for me, much better than the old string. And now with my 25m it just don't work anymore. Very strange. It doesn't feel strong too if I've got a 1D wrap. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

It is pretty frustrating indeed when nothing seems to go right etc. Taking a break might be a good option. Its just like mariokart, when you are in a slump and quit for a few weeks, you will get the crazy dutch pr virus and will smash all your pr's when you return to the game (aka learn new diabolo-stuff really fast). I actually dont know if it works with diabolo (never took a break) but it works for mariokart, so why wouldnt it work for diabolo ::) ::)

Well, I've had a break for three years. I couldn't even do the Cat's Cradle. Now I've started again and after 3 months I can do the Loop and Half Cross Whip Catch Duicide!

Loop and Half Cross Whip Catch Duicide

I just don't know if Half Cross is the good word. I just do the Loop and Hook and hook the string on one stick instead of both sticks. Does anybody know there is a real name for? I think Loop and Half Hook or something is the best name for it.

The real last trick I've learned was the Minetti Whip Kickback Full Circle Release

There already is a thread for this. Please do some research before starting a new topic.

Well, I'm sorry, but there are also many (game)forums where people hate it when a topic got kicked. But next time I'll do some research before...

General / Street or Soccerfield?

Where do you play with your Diabolo the most? @ the streets, on your soccerfield, or just at your home self?

I'm asking this because I just broke my second wooden sticks in 2 weeks because it hits the streets. Now I thought, I could be playing on the soccerfield, but I thought you said your Diabolo's are getting dirty fast, and your sticks and strings too. What dp you think is the best place for you to play?

I've got now 2 Harlequin Medium's and they're great for cradles and stuff. But I suck @ Overarms and 2 Diabolo so I want those Finesses. And you're right, there is always someone who wants to sell his.

Will someone please answer my question? Than I will make the right decision...

I will order in 14 houres but I'm a lot of worried that I just place all my money in the trashcan. I'll have a bit of a thought that 3 G2's is too much. 90 Euro's is a looooooooot of money. I'm just too worried I'll be disappointed. Are you really sure the G2's are in half a year time just sold out everywhere? Now I'm just thinking of buy first some 2 G2's and IF I want to do with three I'll buy another Harlequin-Medium if the G2 isn't ANYWHERE.

Thanks a lot!

Well, I will you explain the whole story.
I've got a mate who is diaboloing with my diabolo's for a couple of weeks. But now he wants his own. I want to buy some new stuff too and we order together. But there is a litte problem, he goes on vacation this Thurday and he needs his new stuff by then. That belgian store(s?) has/have got a deliverytime that is over a week. So we can't wait for that.
I want to order @, so I mailed them for the G3's but, as you all know. It's sunday now, so I must wait til monday, tuesday or later. I want to order by monday so I'm sure it's here before Thursday. But I want the G3's so I have to wait for mail. But I think it takes longer than monday. Now I've got a new plan, If there isn't mail before monday, I'll buy 3 G2's. Then I'm sure I'll never have to order again. Do you think is right or is the G3 so much better that I have to order 2 times?

BTW: Does really got 1 day deliverytime? :o

Well, I've been looking @ some vendors, and there isn't a webshop in Holland which are selling G3's. I don't think I will be playing 3 Diabolo's, but If I will, I'll know it soon enough so I will buy another one. But @, they've got a pack where you've got a Henry's Alu pair, Finesse II and 10 metres of Henry's Fluorcolor string for 41 euro's! I think i'll buy that and an extra Finesse II, another 10m of string and a pair of wooden sticks.

Is that a right decision or am I a dumbass if I'll buy that?
