« on: July 01, 2009, 11:41:42 AM »
lol sean, sledge hammers solve everything dont they :P
that happened to me when i tried using fishing wire for diabolo string, which is awesome, but it catches between the cup and washer and kills the washer
wat to do; you should unscrew the cups, take out the washers and bend them back.
worked for me, should for  u
if not get a sledge hammer

« on: June 18, 2009, 09:00:21 AM »
hey
i got the flys
they play differently to suns
like really differently
its hard to do 2d
like a sun kinda needs a heap more force
is this because their new?
like when i   picked up my suns again, i noticed i was putting a heap more strength into it, a strength suitable for the fly
plz help
and aslo, is the axle meant to move slightly along its axle?

thanks in advancde:)

yea im in the same position as you hack, exxcept i have 3 suns to learn 3d with, so i guess ill do 1 and 2 with flys and 3 with suns? that sounds ok
i wish i could get taibolos, but u cant get them in australia, and i dont buy overseas stuff sadly :(
ill just have to wait

but i still want my fly :P cant wait

awesome!
thanks sean
your my hero ;P
when you say bearing/fixed mode, u mean taking it apart and puting in the fixed axle right?, like you cant change them from fixed to bearing in a click of a hub duncan style?
but yea that looks awesome, for years of play thats a pretty clean diabolo.
thanks again :)

General / Re: tricks? I'm not tricking anyone.
« on: June 02, 2009, 08:53:48 AM »
a trick can be defined as an act which pertains to having the audience question the metaphysical possibility of the event occuring. the whole notion of diaboloing challenges supports the physics principles that not many people know and in lay mans terms, tricks make people think wat the hell how did he do that it cant be.
yea sorry for blabbering along, did an english exam today
all up in my head

Gear / Re: Soaping your string to make it less slippery?
« on: May 30, 2009, 05:59:55 AM »
call em crazy, but i go to my garden with my new string and rup it in dirt
not too much of course
but after a few shuffles it feels heaps good
dont over do it with the dirt
it takes time to loose slipereperyness
good luck

General / Re: Improving
« on: May 26, 2009, 03:31:03 AM »
a bit more than 30 min
you cant practise for the sake of improving, you practise for other reasons and improving slowly comes along.
when u diabolo u have to be pretty motivated and happy i guess, u shouldnt diabolo to become a pro, that comes naturally.
so wat im waffling on about is u have to enjoy it to succeed.
and every bit of practise counts even if u dont realise it.

as for mini columns, try doing it out of a shuffle with a tight string, that got me doing it. it takes a while to learn.
try other tricks and come back to it.
ive been tryin 3d for maybe a year and a bit now, and i cant last longer than 30 ott, and i hate that because i know ppl who did it in 8 months or 9. so yea u just have to stick to it.

and relax your wrists, that helps for some reason some times
good luck
