There's 4 things I never tire of:

    1. Clouds (especially time lapse footage of them)
    2. Birds sitting in cool spots
    3. Slow motion effects. I loved the effect in that video of the slow-mo, you should have used it a bit more
    4. A good diabolo video

That video satisfied all of those things

I diaboloed outside on the winters some years ago. -15 celcius (and this in in the south) + strong wind, icy ground and finally heavy snowfall in your face is definitely not as fun as it sounds ;). I´d take 40 degree heat over that anyday.
Thats where Australian snow comes in handy  ;) - Warm enough to snowboard in a T-shirt.

Yea, the easiest way would be to time it from when you launch it to when you catch it. Then just do what Sean said to calculate the height. I have done this in physics except we were shooting tennis balls out of a combustion cannon.

The formula is:
s = ut + 1/2 at^2
s = vertical displacement
u = initial velocity (0 as it is measured from its peak)
t = time from launch to catch
a = gravitational acceleration (9.8m/s/s)

So yea, to summarize: Do what Sean said, the string wouldn't work. Well it might work, but it would be easier to just time it and use the formula.

Come to Australia. It doesn't snow, and you'd all think it was hot.
Yea, except in summer it gets too hot. I find I can only diabolo for about 20mins max in summer before you have to crawl inside and re-hydrate and cool down. Anyway, summer is just a time to sit inside all day and watch the cricket... Cant wait...

Diaboloing in snow... That would be cool...

We can infect some cats with the plague and shoot them at their HQ using a cat-apult. (Get the pun?.....No?....)

Agreed. Who cares if the song has been used before. If it goes well with the video, it should be used.

Aww, when "Like no other" came up on the screen, I was hoping "like no other" by the Testeagles would start playing. Looks good though.

Blue = Orgasmic.
Just a reminder - Anglea mentioned to me I could buy taibolos direct from the store. Which ended up being a good option for me. But get a paypal account - Sending via bank transfer is expensive..
How much did they end up costing?

Tricks / Re: Half-minigenocide - new trick?
« on: August 25, 2008, 12:22:26 PM »
I think wat he is explaining is basically a wrapped mini genocide, but starting with more emphasis on the slowicide. Anyway, i reckon this variation would look quite good.

use #1 - a goblet for wine :D
Please, please. They are called goon cups, or goon mugs, or goon holders.

Good for scaring annoying, inquisitive puppies. One tap on the nose with a spinning diabolo, that puppy is gone.
Catching lizards, spiders etc.

That was great. Loved all of it, especially the continous mini genocide intergral kind of things. And when that train thing went past everyone was staring at you in amazement. Keep it up!

Don't throw your diabolo into the big spikey bush next to where you diabolo. Hahahah I won this round spikey bush.

Bush - 13

Tricks / Re: vertax - help
« on: August 12, 2008, 10:44:52 AM »
For myself, I find finesses are too narrow and touchy for vertax. At least thats the excuse I use for sucking at vertax. Waiting till I get a decent wide axled diabolo to really get into vertax.
