Gear / Re: New MB diabolo: "Tornado" (and evolution #2, 5)
« on: May 24, 2008, 09:47:38 PM »
Lol

I just ordered a Prisma kit from ButterFingers UK (the only UK stockist of Evo 5)

Damn it Can't wait to get my hands on a Tornado. Butterfingers say "Coming Soon", I say lay siege to the Jonglerie Diffusion Factory in Geneva and bring back a large shipment of Tornados.

Tricks / Re: Vertax J-Whip
« on: May 24, 2008, 09:35:44 PM »
no because it is perhaps one of the most pointless tricks known to man.
Not true, I'm working on a vertax mini-gen from it. You could also get some nice knot combos out of it.

@ Dennis: Technically you shouldn't have to turn your body try getting a large/larger loop of slack or get the slack just before the diabolo reaches the halfway point between your left and right stick. If you can't get the slack then try popping the diabolo towards your head/chest very very very gently (with about the strength it takes to tap a keyboard key)and then try to get the slack with the same motion of a normal J-Whip but horizontally. If this doesn't help you I don't know what you are doing wrong.

Gear / Re: Sundia Handsticks

I've used my mates pair of Sundia CFs, they're lighter and shorter then Henrys but use the same string attachment method, I'm not sure about colours, you'll have to ask Nev.
I'm hoping to pick up a pair within the week.
Oh and the grips are about as comfortable as they could ever get.

Tricks / Re: Yo-Yo Like Start
« on: May 24, 2008, 04:59:41 PM »
Yeah I saw that but I thought it would be better to have some instructions to explain what was going on
@ Adamer15: No not really thats why you have to wind it in a similar way to an offsting yo-yo, I've done it with brand new string on a wide axle finnese.

Tricks / Yo-Yo Like Start
« on: May 23, 2008, 11:57:59 PM »
Here is a cool diabolo trick/start based on the offstring yo-yo forward pass start.

1. Hold the (not spinning) diabolo on a half-string with both sticks in your left hand (assuming right handedness- lefties reverse instructions)

2. Do 2 right backwraps

3. Do 1 left un-wrap, you should have a crossed string (as if you have done a sun)

4. Keep winding the string in an anti-clockwise direction, keeping hold of the string in your right hand the whole time, until you have no string left to wind.

5. You can now let go of the (small) loop of string in your right hand, the sticks should be touching the hubs/axle on the right-hand side

6. Either of the below options works well.
 a. Set the diabolo on the floor and pull up with your right hand to send the diabolo rolling down the string, when it nearly reaches the bottom give a sharp tug up, the diabolo will come off the string, catch it.
 b. As above but start with the diabolo in your left hand in place of the floor.

This can be a little hard to time but is well worth it.
Have fun with this!

Ha Ha Will
Tis Josh from school

That wouldn't work as the diabolo would have no gyroscopic stability. Sorry to shatter your dreams.
