Videos / Different excalibur/vertax entries« on: December 05, 2005, 04:19:51 AM »
I've found an interesting wrap for excalibur
if u wrap ur right stick around the back cone then do a chinese whip motion u can go to excalibur but the differerence is this loop never wraps up on u. the exit is a little weird up have to go under ur left hand to go to open string excalibur. This wrap lets me do excalibur with my Harliquins ![]() 64
Tricks / Vortex to switch sprinkler (New trick idea)« on: December 02, 2005, 06:58:55 AM »
I do reverse hyperloops, from a hyperloop stick grind u can throw the diabolo back and reverse the direction of the hyperloop.
the rotations come from the speed the diabolo is moving as it enters the hyperloop totally independent of the speed the diabolo is rotating on a good try i can get 3 -4 revouloutions so mabye if its from a vortex u just got chuck it really hard or something 65

I was really amzed by the trick index at http://www.contactjuggling.org/
they divide sections into 1,2,3,4... ball tricks and then in each section they have a list of tricks and then a little vidio in some weird small reapeating format I'm sure that it probably involves a preposterous amount of work but its such an amazing resource especaially when ur just starting out or even as a reference tool later on we already have the premier diabolo site on the web y not make it even more elite 66

yeah now that i think about it catching things that fall down is probably the most useful ability gained from juggling
except u never know if u were gonna catch it anyway mabye if u never juggled in ur life u would've fluked a foot stall with the pickle jar i'm working in a childcare centre at the moment and a couple of days ago i saw this 2 year old fall over, then roll over, then fall down the first step of the flight of stairs of the fort in the playground, and then i caught them with one hand as they were just building up momentum to crash down the rest of the stairs phew so all those years of juggling payed off kids hurt themselves in the FUNNIEST ways ![]() 73

I must say I REALLY enjoy Being better at something than other people
But I always keep a few things in mind Firstly: Juggling has almost no pratical value at all Secondly: No one actually cares what ur doing Thirdly: Most people don't juggle and most jugglers don't Diabolo so no matter what u do most of the time, in the end (in preformance terms) it doesn't even matter if u suck The main Reason i juggle is I like the feeling of my brain working in that strange way it does when i diabolo as u move through the zen like state of apparent intricate complexity smoothly and cleanly seemingly paying only lipservice to the laws of physics The fact that others think it looks cool is just a bonus that makes me feel good On a sidenote I was juggling in the park today with a bunch of jugglers and random hot girls came over ( Cough*Juggle'Ho's*Cough) so i taught them to keep it straight, and how to do a good toss and let them each have a turn that made me feel good too ![]() and then they walked off ![]() sorry this was a bit long and ranty sometimes we just need to vent 74

Tricks / Vertax / Excalibur Advanced Ramblings« on: July 02, 2005, 10:57:35 AM »
So there are a couple of forums about this crazy technique involving certain videos or how to start and/or basic tricks
but I can already do all that ![]() so I thought how about a forum for more advanced stuff. What are people trying. where are we going there's already a 2 diabolo excalibur thread so i guess I'm thinking more about stuff with 1 I'm working on infinite vertax trapeze suicide (on the right stick at least three rotations) i've started getting genocides back on the string so now i'm thinking about mini genocides and I haven't figured out quite how but i'd like to try some sort of magic knot anyone got any body rotations going on? also I haven't even started working on it BUT if we can do chinese whips above our heads what about below the hips exaclibur! around the legs anyone? bring it on everyone lets get this Bolo rolling ![]() 77
General / Coolest flukes« on: July 02, 2005, 10:28:36 AM »
i was trying mini genocides
and after my diabolo coming off the string it landed in between the knot on the end of the stick and the stick so after staring at it for a while i grabbed the string sunned it round and kept it going ![]() 78
I'm New / Re: How do you speed up your diabolo?« on: June 23, 2005, 02:31:29 PM »
I found anew accelaration tonight
or a start anyway for Excalibur put diabolo on floor, wrap front cone with right handstick, then jam right hand stick against axle and take out all the slack with left stick, then lift diabolo off the ground and hold it in vertical excalibur position, turn around on the spot keeping the right stick pressed against the diabolo so it doesn't go anywhere, then when u are ready realease the tension slightly and the diabolo and it should start rotating the right way i haven't quite got the hang of how to go into whip from it but i've only been doing it for a few hours 79
