I'm glad those things are non-issues for you Draco!  Did you look into cafepress?  Although they don't have black shirts, I think it would be a lot cheaper for you.  A silkscreen t-shirt company will most likely require you to purchase a minimum order of shirts, which might be more than you need or can afford at this point.  Cafepress also has a cool green color that you could get.  I don't work for cafepress, I'm just trying to make a helpful suggestion.

Awesome, who placed?  Did they sell a lot of diabolos there?  That might indicate how well a contest like this can attract new players.  I know it's not definitive though.

Neat shirt.  I would suggest changing the black diabolo to a different color on the black shirt.  Unless those are the 3 colors of diabolos you actually have.  Incidentally, are you playing 3 now?  I would be embarrassed to have 3 on my shirt and only be able to do 1.     Jk    Try going to or a site like that.  You can upload your designs and buy your shirts from them.  You can also direct people there and they can buy them too.  You get a small percentage for each one sold!  Good luck!

Don't the yo players already have something to do at the yo comp?  Just kidding, I'm jealous!  I wish there was a yo comp near me that had a diabolo section.  I could seriously take 8th place!

Well, this is more motivation to learn it.  I just need sound advice now!  This is not to say that the advice from the posters above is not sound. :)

Gear / Ball-bearing axle for Finesse G2 ?!?!?! (still not released)
« on: October 03, 2005, 05:38:17 PM »
I have a few of the spintastics bearing diabolos.  My spinabolo plays nicely, except for the elevator.  I couldn't get it to do an elevator by double or triple wrapping it, so I don't know if that is possible.  It kept coming apart, so I tightened it up over and over until I over tightened it. :)  Now it does elevators just fine.  It is so tight that the bearing doesn't spin.  It is a very very heavy fixed diabolo now.

Cool, I really want to get some.  What is the deal with the charger though?  Do I have to buy a voltage converter to use it in the US?

Is that the guy from the video where the guy lives on the beach and the vagabond moves in with him and learns diabolo?

Hi James,  I am still trying to learn this trick.  I am coming close, (I think) by trying to get a sort of rhythym going with the diabolo almost bouncing itself back and forth.  I just have to work on getting my hands down and out of the way so that the strings don't get crossed.  I haven't practiced it much though because it always flies out so far away.  Good luck.

I have a pair of diabglos.  They are fine, it's just that the cups are not as rigid as the diabigs appear to be.  Even on Bandai's website, I cannot find anything about diabolos.

Cool, thanks Norbi.  Do you know which ones are the clear type?  I have seen a picture of Makky with a couple of clear ones on the DIA members page website.

Sorry if this has been discussed, I did search this one.  Where can I get ahold of some Diabig?  I have seen pictures of them with what appear to be transluscent shells, like what is on the diabglo. (Incidentally, does anyone know upon what kind of diabolo the diabglos are built?)  Is the diabig the same as the yoho jumbo?  I want the fixed axle and in the cool colors!

General / [terminology] pointless thread...
« on: September 21, 2005, 04:48:30 AM »
I've always used Diaboloist too Sean.  I try to avoid using anything that sounds like diablo and always stress the extra "o."  Incidentally,"Diabology" is in fact the study of Satan and demonic influence in the world.  I found that in a print dictionary, and have gotten a couple of strange looks when friends saw the DVD case.  Try doing a google search for diabology and there is a strange "coming soon" website...  Anyone know what that is all about?  OMG!  I don't want to tell you what else I found while searching that on google... Just don't go past the first 20 results!!!

Are the white G2's available everywhere now, and what are the 2 industry secrets Sean mentioned on the first page?

Alright, I'm going to say this upfront... I have two questions that are probably answered somewhere in this post.  I honestly have read most of it before, and I don't feel like reading the whole thing again.  Sorry Norbi.  1.  I want to get the light kits for finesse, but I am in the US.  Are the kits upgraded from the old damage-prone style, and what is up with the rechargable batteries issue?  Or should I just go with the vegas?
2.  Does anyone know about switching out the hubs in diabglos?  I have a few that are cracked and I'm wondering what I might be able to switch them with.  (compatable diabolos)
Thank you for your understanding.

I'm New / I thinks it`s hard to get a good spinn with the Finnese
« on: September 20, 2005, 08:42:41 PM »
I think it just has to do with the weight of the finesse.  It's lighter, so I try to keep the wrap a little tighter to increase the friction.  I had the same feeling switching from circuses which are heavier.  I do the same tightening thing when I try "vertax."  Try pulling your left hand away to make it tighter, or you could buy the weight kit for it.

Tricks / How long does it take to learn exalibur?
« on: September 19, 2005, 02:13:58 PM »
I think Norbi will get mad if you use Horizontax.  The "ax" part refers to the axle or axis of rotation, which in this case is vertical.  The trick actually looks more like swashbuckling or fencing with your lead/rapier hand flailing and your rear hand elevated above your head.  Watch the video of Sean doing it and see if you think so too.

I'm New / Re: Learning 2 diabolo! keeping the shuffle going
« on: September 16, 2005, 06:21:35 PM »
Are you having one diabolo orbit the other?  I think that is a trick in and of itself.  What I mean is, does the shuffle keep going or fall apart from your problem?

General / Combining the diabolo with balls
« on: September 16, 2005, 06:11:44 PM »
That looks pretty wild, how does it play?  I've tried using CDs and also tried putting smaller diabolos into the sides of my circuses, but I'm sure everyone does that.

Well, I'm neither the youngest nor the oldest here, but I am definitely in the top 3 for lack of skills.
