41 Policy & Feedback / Server time
« on: December 05, 2008, 10:20:26 AM »
Hello. The top of the page shows the time, eg
December 05, 2008, 05:15:41 PM
At the time it was showing the above, it was 10.15.41 AM where I am.

Is it possible to tweak things so that the time displayed is the user's local time? Also for the time that posts were made, etc.

The Void
Surprised it wasn't showing Canadian time.

Hello, I'm cross-posting this from UK Jugglers for John. I don't believe
he posts/reads here, so if you have any questions, email him.

43 Policy & Feedback / Link on forum to f ro n t p a g e

Perhaps I'm being blind, but there's no link on the forum that directs to the DCA frontpage, is there? How about making the top bar (the one with this image:

) of the forum into such a link?

EDIT: and why on earth does the text get automatically changed to "your father's moustache". Ridiculous in-joke which only serves to obfuscate. Please desist with it.

The longest juggling convention in the world is creeping up on us. Come along and mooch around for a week and a bit, chew buttercups, visit the local brewery, play games, name trees, count chickens, oh, and play a bit of diabolo if that kind of thing interests you.  ;)

More info at, with videos of the last 3 years' conventions on the Archive page.

Please keep any replies to this topic laid back, mellow and yellow.  ;D

It's short notice, but BoB will be returning to Bristol on January 19th,

If any of the lovely people running Leeds this Saturday would be kind
enough to print off a poster and
put it up there, that would be marvelous of you. :-)

See you there.*

So a couple of months ago, the Agent's wife said "You need to clean your diabolos!"

What was she on about? OK, so with only a few summer gigs left, I got around to it......

Put some pom hubs in while I was at it, and oh yeah - that's what colour they used to be......

Take your Debbie Gibson Finesses- 10 years, still rockin', still dreamin' Jimi's Circus still burnin' man!

My video from this year's Bungay convention. You lot will probably like the second half better.

Séan, unfortunately one of my tapes was snafu, so I couldn't put the proof-of-concept backweave demo in. We'll have to sort it out another time.

Seriously folks, it's ugly, and it's not worth getting your collective knickers in a twist about. Come on dudes, just concentrate on some real diabolo tricks instead of this nasty spacky jerkfest.

Thanks, you may now go about your day.

Videos / Video of the year poll

[Mods: should this be in 'General'? - I wasn't sure.]

Hi folks,
I'm running a Video of the year poll over on rec.juggling. Check it out, and feel free to chime in with your votes. You might also like to check out the shortlist thread, where people just list a bunch of their favourites without restricting themselves to 5.

Note: you have to vote on rec.juggling, not here.

Diabolo counts as juggling! :-)

Cross-post from RJ:

Just a quick reminder that the Bungay Balls Up 2006 starts in three weeks
time, on Saturday 20th May until Bank Holiday Monday 29th May.

deepest Suffolk and features:

* Workshops including juggling, acrobalance, and beginners trapeze on a 22 foot freestanding trapeze rig
* Show on Saturday night (the 27th) featuring - you!
* Luxury shower and toilet facilities
* Beautiful countryside and the seaside is only a short drive away

If you want more please check out the Void's wonderful videos at:

Community & Events / Bungay Balls Up - UK's longest convention!

Cross-post from Rec.juggling:
Hi all,

Just a reminder about this year's Bungay Balls Up....

I've just started to book everything; the event will be on the same site
as last year, Hulver Farm, with very similar facilities; posh loos, 24
hour showers, a big tent to juggle in, pool, table tennis, Ian and Jamie
in the cafe, an open fire, and of course plenty of buttercups!

The dates this year are Saturday 20th - Bank Holiday Monday 29th May -
yes that's 10 days - that's right, we're longer than Bristol! The show
will be on Saturday 27th.

Prices are roughly the same as last year; £9 per day or £70 for the week.

Hope to see some of you there and remember to bring your games, toys and
other excuses for not quite getting round to doing any juggling....

email: bungay (at) juggler (dot) net

PS If you haven't looked recently, Void has done some sterling work
on the website including an archive of everything we could find from
past conventions. Send us any photos/video you have and we'll do our
best to get it added. The videos from 2005 are particularly fine!

If you want to pre-reg for the BJC, then bring your cheque book or cash and you can save yourself all that tedious trouble of dealing with envelopes and getting to a postbox.

Well, since I'm in here now, I might as well give a plug to BBU:

A few folks in here have already said they're coming, or are tempted, so I thought I'd get the lassoo out, and see if I couldn't round me up a posse of diabolists :-D

It'd be cool to see you there.

And I promise to even learn a new trick or two, if you come.
