Good idea. [I changed the title, in case people thought it was a thread for videos of "mini-diabolos". :)]

@Sebi Okay, I see that point, but frankly, getting people to contribute to collab videos can be a slog in itself, so let's hope for the best. Obviously, I'd encourage people to think about angles, lighting and backdrops, but.... Well, I guess well just see what happens. Ciao.

i don't think that the "film your trick in the nature" thing is a good idea because that stints people who live in the city.
Oh, come on. I live in a city. I have a back garden (okay, I'm lucky), I have a small park 5 minutes' walk from my house, and a large park 10 minute's walk away. Or even at the base of a tower block near me, there is a patch of flowers. Or by a train line near me there are a bunch of blackberry brambles.
You really think cities don't have ANY "nature spaces"? If that is really really really true for you... then (...change cities!) just improvise.... A vase of flowers? Some grafitti of some bushes?

Just make even a tiny bit of effort, and you can make your clip "in nature" somehow. Just try!

Thanks , but please remove me for removing me. It would be fun to do, but I just don't have the time to commit to it.

Diabolo.ca Policy & Feedback / Mentions mod?

Something that I think has helped to keep things active on the kendama forum, is the installation of this mod:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3860

Of course, there are possible drawbacks, so here's what I wrote when I installed it over there:
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2296.msg19093.html#msg19093

What do you think, admins?

I've been away from the forum for a while. Glad to see this is likely to happen again. I'll contribute.

Wondering whether to volunteer to edit or not.... Hmmmm, time.....

Google translation (never great from Japanese to English):

Yo-yo recreation has made a diabolo.

I didn't say either of those things. I was expressing surprise that (as it seemed to me,) you just rebought another set three times without attempting to find a solution to the problem.

Stick a single line of sellotape along the handle? That will make them ever so slightly thicker, maybe enough for the silicone to grip again.

This has happened to you 4 times? Really?

Diabolo.ca Policy & Feedback / Quick Reply option
« on: January 02, 2015, 12:33:34 PM »
SMF has a "quick reply" option: Can it be turned on here?
Basically there is a small reply box under every thread that you can just start typing into to reply. It's one less click to have to make a reply. I know that seems trivial, but I think we should be making it as easy as possible for people to post on the forum, given the traffic decline over recent years.

Lighting was surprisingly effective. I liked the 2 moves that ended in slack whips. (Even though they both missed.)
