Is it loose? Check to see if one side is missing a washer or something, uneven weight will make it turn.
Its perfectly reasonable that you just have a faulty one though

All three of those diabolos are pretty high quality, especially if its just for teaching kids. I'd say pick whichever one is cheapest, so you can teach as many kids as possible

I will also point something I didn't like :) what is that super short release-bounce-catch at 1:58?

Its one of those things that feels like it looks cool, but doesn't really. Would it be nicer if the stick didn't wobble at all?

Ah ok, I understand now. So maybe make it less of a trick shot (something lucky)? And yes, I hope one day I'll be able to show it live, I'd love to see you perform as well!

I'll keep you all updated, I need to get myself a camera to track my progress and keep record of my ideas.

Turbofest is really fun! but also really far away. Maybe when I get to Quebec I can try and get them to fly you out there to perform. Last year they brought in people from Chile and Italy.

1:20 Okay, I have mixed feelings with this. Can't explain. The whole beginning intro was beautiful until here for me.

Funny you should say that- that's the only trick in the sequence I didn't come up with (unless you count general stuff like mini-gens). Maybe that's why it seems like it might not fit? I couldn't find an ending for that sequence that I liked, my friend came up with that elbow catch thing and we left it at that. I do want to develop tricks like that more and see what happens.

As for seeing things in one take or full-frontal, I'll try and get a camera and film that stuff for you guys.

I wish I could come to EJC! But unfortunately I have to save all my money these next few months, I'm going to Quebec City for circus school next year and I will be on a student visa so I can't work the whole year. Any chance you guys might be at Turbofest?

Thanks for breaking it down for me you guys, I really appreciate it! It helps me to know what works, and should be developed more, and what I need to change.

6. Never directly look at the crowd unless you are hyping them up or getting applause etc...

I don't agree with this at all. Especially for this type of light-hearted theme of your act you want to be engaging. Look at the audience whenever possible. They will feel like you made a real connection with them.

Yeah with those guys like jarle and haavard it works well because they can work together in the same place, on the same computer. two editors in different countries would be awful.

I don't know if this was a problem to you but I've always found that something white on my black sticks makes them easier to see. It seems like a black costume, stage, backdrop, etc would make your sticks pretty invisible, making all those integrals a bit harder.

To be less nervous on stage, the way I have done it in the past is to make sure you feel confident with what you are doing. At Smirkus my partner and I practiced our act at least an hour a day for two weeks to get it ready, and even after those two weeks we kept the skill level lower than what we knew we could do in practice. The best way overall that I've found is to just perform all the time. Of course its not always possible to perform whenever you want, but if you want to get more comfortable on stage I'd suggest jumping on every opportunity that presents itself.

I can't wait to see how this act transforms in the future!

I think its a good idea to get started this early.

We should pick an editor soon, have clips due in september or something, and then maybe the editor could have the thing done by new years

is that possible?

How long is your string in relation to the rest of your body? also just wondering, at what point in the video is it not luck anymore, and you actually know whats going on?

pay attention to williams energy and enthusiasm in this video- thats partly why he did so well in the competition. If you can try to match that you will be on the right track. Of course, his style isn't necessarily the best for all performances, it is really a good direction to go in for a T.V. competition.

Could not connect to mysql! Please check your database settings!

I've had this problem since I got my new computer... I tried emptying my cache and all that stuff with chrome but jtv still only works with internet explorer. Unless I go to it from an embedded link posted here or facebook or something.
