Ben clearly is rubbish at normax, hence the dissing.

 :-*

from now on horizontally oriented diabolo should be referred to as normax.

best thread ever

Maby the holes look ugly but its a phisical fact that this little ugly holes are more aerodynamic (it means thet the wind-friction is lower ---> so the diabolo spins longer (theoreticly))

(sorry for my english i hope u understood it !! )

anyone watch mythbusters? on one episode they covered a car with those holes and proved it to be more aredynamic and fuel efficient. i guess it applies for diabolo too, so spins longer, with less energy maybe?

« on: November 23, 2009, 04:09:41 AM »
Spinabolos are back at jugglingstore.com
They are classified under sundia, although the description says made by spintastics. they also have the new spintastics magnum. its a wide axel diabolo with the same body and bearing as the spintastics pro. does anyone know if these are the same as the old ones, or if the magnum are anygood?

does anyone actually do foot kickups now? its been 4 years, im sure someone does it now. i just kick the diabolo under the axel and pull my foot back to give it spin.

y get a fly?if you want a bearing diabolo, go with the sundia triple bearing shining diabolo. my first diabolo was a fly, and i found that bearings limit you alot, but also makes many tricks easier(not including integrals).

« on: November 20, 2009, 02:14:54 AM »
i learned 3d a couple months ago, and im already up to 30 ott. and this is with one fly, one triple bearing, and on 255 gram sun. the only drwback of multiple diabolos with bearings is that it doesnt shuffle itself as well, so i guess it is harder.

sunda straing = Good for one or two days then it fails. =)

i dont really agree with that. my sundia string last longer than me hernys yellows. i dont see how its bad after 2 days. the thin strings arent that grippy, and its harder to break than other strings.

Not sure why it is breaking, but the Sundia string is quite a lot thicker than the Henry's, so maybe try this.
(This is not to say Henry's is inferior.  In fact, the Sundia is too thick for many axles.  It is a matter of matching the best string for each diabolo.)

sundia thin string is also significantly thicker, but still works on fixed diabolos. sundia thick strings are mainly for bearings.

my mom brought back my light sun in a suitcase. the cups were completely messed up. so i thought they were bad and left them for a month. then i dug it out of my diabolo collection to find it had gone back. but if you dont want to wait, hot water.

Tnx for your tips broncobob,i found your comment very helpfull,i ll go check these things in action,Cheers!

Edit: After practising and doing the exercises broncobob told me,i am having this problem:When i keep the souffle go on and use my right hand to speed up the diabolos,I am having a ''columnlike''  effect, where the one diabolo is in orbits and the other is doing columns on the middle  string,I think i'm doing something wrong.

it could be one diabolo is losing momentum. you have to make sure you drive both diabolos, not just one. when using the right hand, just move your hand in a clockwise circular movement. when your stick reaches the bottom of the circle, you should be driving a diabolo to the left. i had the same problem with the column thing when i started 2d. keep practicing and good luck.

275 g sun is overall best, but i think shining 3x bearing isnt bad. I learned 2d with a sundia shining and a fly, and 3d with a sun added. i havent tried taibolos so i cant comment on that.

i found that kids of any age think its cool, so see if you can find any kids to show your act to. usually their parents will watch with them, and you got several people. usually i perform at schools for fun, so its pretty easy to get a crowd going.

exactly my words ::)

g4 is much heavier than g3. the shape of the body is different, and so is the axel. its good, but its too much change for me. i have to get used to it.
