Videos / French Convention video
« on: July 23, 2018, 10:01:03 PM »
Hey there!

We made a little group video at the French Juggling Convention last week!
Unfortunately I didn't have time to ask Thomas, Théo, Jérôme, William or Quentin for a trick.

I hope you'll like it anyway!
Feedback appreciated ;)

PS: no, I had not brought any tripods 😅

Thank you guys!
It pleases me to know that you like my trick, @Wis I'll get them ready for the EJC battle  :P

And I'm quite happy to receive compliments on my integrals from you Ben, that does make me want to to more of those! The left hand is all that counts in that 2:25 trick  :-D

Hi diabolo people,

Yesterday I felt like making a video, here is the result:

I really hope that you will like it, if you have any feedback I'd be really glad to read it ;)

PS: at one point I randomly hit my mum's rose tree, and the way the petals fell on me while I was finally succeeding in that trick (which I had been shooting for a good 45 minutes), I couldn't help but make a stupid edit out of it:

VIPS (very important PS):
I did intend to make the video look professional at all.
The only camera I had with me was a Gopro-like one and dates back to 2012. Thus, we have here an extraordinarily-blurred-barely-720p quality.
The same thing goes for the awesome quality framing work that took me approximately 12 seconds per shot.
Also, I filmed it in my garden.
To sum this all up, I made that video for fun, mostly to show you my technical and creative progress over the past 6 months.

I guess we have to be patient, the video will come out when it is ready. Max is a professional editor and I know he usually has a lot of work, and he probably doesn’t want to hurry but rather to care about details. So let’s just get the video off your mind an you’ll be happily surprised when it airs  ;)
I do understand that it’s always exciting to wait for a collab though :D

I agree with Wis, the best thing is to actually meet 3d players in real life, it does help an enormous lot!
If you can’t, maybe you can try and find your own preferred way to start the shuffle (wrap, no wrap, hover,... there are numerous ways) by watching 3 low entry videos and try things out by yourself.

One video which really helped me understand things at first was Austin Bruckner’s tutorial :
He explains how not to make the most common mistakes. Now don’t get too frustrated if 3 low takes you  a long time, for me it took more than 3 years. However this isn’t the case with everybody, but it probably will take several months and you might not always witness any progress for a while.

But don’t get discouraged, I have to say 3 low is worth the effort!!
Good luck with it all!

I would also be an option B supporter, collab is a must for the community!  8)

@Damian the editor is Max van der Pijl if that hasn’t changed since October

Hey people !
So I made this video as a milestone for my five years on youtube.
My very first video is still available, and looking back at it I'm quite happy with the progress I've made within these years.

Enjoy if you haven't watched it yet!

Thank you guys!

@Arjan, once the diabolo is thrown in the air I let the right stick fall over my shoulder and catch it so that the string goes behind my back, then I just move my arm to catch the diabolo over my right elbow. If you want  I can send you a clearer video of the trick  ;)

Good afternoon dear diabolo community!

I made this video with two friends of mine who helped with the fiming.
Please tell me what you think, frontpage if you will ( ::) ) and most importantly enjoy these 4 minutes 40 of time!!

Have a good one, and see you in Poland!

@Icebox I feel you for 3d man, took me 3 and a half years to get it, I hope yours will come one day!
And about the integral, it's not my favourite looking one but I want to learn it since I see it too much at conventions, yet it's just impossible for the moment, a stick constantly hits my head...

*after having watched too many videos to find the trick*
The one Kevin does in the middle of the video - with a simple entry of course.

I am strongly willing to trade a C-fan 360 for the bloody integral where the stick makes one loop around each side of your face  :'(

It's quite amusing to read all of these posts from 2008  :)

I personally dream quite often about diabolos, let's say, maybe once every two months. Back when I was struggling to get a 3 low shuffle (so not so long ago) I would dream way too often of me simply getting the shuffle (I'm sure you can all relate to the frustration it gives you when you wake up), but more recently it's been more about either dropping an awful lot on stage, or more commonly about BREAKING STICKS. And it doesn't feel good at all  :P

@Damian and @Furlisht it was great meeting you and next time I hope Julien will compete at NK  :P

Hey guys!
This weekend I went to NK Jongleren in the Netherlands, decided to make a little group video, just to keep a memory of this very nice moment  :)

I hope you like it, critical feedback on the editing is as always very much appreciated  ;)
