Thanks everybody who commented that they liked the images  ;) .  Okay, I have one more (I swear this is the last one for a while  :P ) after this my diabolo image needs have been fulfilled, and my Myspace is finally COMPLETE (mwa ha ha).  So here's my last one:

By the way, does anyone know what this image was based upon?  I bet you all have seen it at one time or another before.  ;)

Red Sundia Fly just arrived today!  ;D  I should have paid attention to all the hype about them, but never realized their true greatness until I just tried them today!  Once I get more money (which could take a while) I'm definitely going to be getting some more of these.

Gear / Re: Your favourite sticks, string, diabolos?
« on: August 10, 2008, 09:21:34 AM »
I checked the "I'm New" section, and there wasn't any topic on the first page about it, although I didn't look through all seven or use the search.  And I think if we've updated our tastes since we were new, then we should be able to talk about them in the General diabolo discussion forum.

Diabolo (normal, multiple, and Vertax under 5 minutes) Finesse G2/3
Diabolo (playing around/ Vertax over 5 minutes) Sundia Fly
Sticks: Henry's Carbon fiber short black
String: Henry's Yellow.  There's just something about it I like.

Gear / Re: Should I buy new string?
« on: August 07, 2008, 04:25:49 AM »
I know, in my experience, I've had my yellow string go as long as where the yellow part has torn, and it was still hanging by the white inner thread.  The Henry's white, on the other hand, just kinda snaps.  Everyone's got different taste, though.

They will be getting Taibolos shipped within a month.  That's pretty exciting.

Do you know, by any chance, when that month starts?  :P

It's been over a month, and it still isn't on their website.  I'm going to try calling tommorow, I think, but wanted to know if anything else has surfaced before then.

General / Re: who likes to yoyo?

Yeah, I have a Velocity, and it's really good for beginners, to about mid-level skill.  It has gear that you can set to have different string resistances (I really have no clue on any yo-yo terms, I'm really just making this stuff up as I go, so if anyone has some actual terms...  :P ).  You can have the two pieces close together so it will come back up as you pull it, or you can have it wider so you can bind and use it more like a higher end yo yo.

And I know they JUST came out with a brand new yo yo for about $40 that does everything a metal yo yo does, only it is made out of plastic.  It was really nice and really smooth, but I'm broke, so I couldn't buy it.  :(  Also, I'm not sure what it was called, because I haven't found anything on it online, as it hasn't been fully released yet.

Gear / Re: Finesse vibrating? / Scratched hubs
« on: August 06, 2008, 09:22:28 PM »
The whole 'vibrating' thing happened on my Henry's micro I bought.  That could possibly be the cheapest, yet most overpriced thing I've ever purchased for diaboloing.  And from what I've seen you can not even tighten it.  With the Finesses, though, just tighten it up with two allen wrenches, and make sure the little notch things line up.

Okay, well I was updating my Myspace profile pic, and I decided I should throw a diabolo in there (pun kinda intended :P).

The photo portion took forever, because I had the camera set to a timer, and by the time I would get all ready and it would take, the diabolo would have run out of spin, and would fall to the ground.  Finally I got one I was okay with, but you can see it's kind of tilting to the left.  ::)  My Fly is in the shipment process, though, so no more 5 second finger grinds for long.  ;D

It looks like whoever owns that site never upgraded his subscription to the server site.  Gallery v2 has switched to gallery 2.1, apparently.

Although I'm not sure any of this should even get posted if it includes the raping of sticks.  :P

General / Re: Good Diabolo music?

Just found out that Weird Al fits fine for juggling, especially Star Wars Gangsta Rap ;D

Al doesn't do the gangsta rap, though.  The only Star Wars songs he did was Yoda and The Saga Begins.  Watch out for the many other people claiming to be Weird Al with songs that sound like him.  The only songs he has actually done are on his albums.  The rest are done by fans trying to get their songs heard through the popularity of him.

theres a circue du soleil sound track if you want to download it

Which Cirque album are you talking about, because there are a LOT.  I know I have over 30 of their albums on my computer, alone (although some are publicly unreleased and/or out of print, and a lot have been ripped off of their DVDs or television performances).

As for songs, they range from every kind of performance music you could imagine... from slow and artistic to fast paced and rockin'!   ;)

To be honest Baghead, i think that you are being over dramatic. Many People have suffered third degree burns and not lived in denial with a bag on their heads for the rest of their lives.
Do you want to lead a normal life? because if you do then why not just take the bag off and try to live as normal as possible?

silly baghead.
opinion invalid

To help try and illustrate what garner is saying:

And this so called "Baghead" idea wouldn't have anything to do with the movie "Baghead" that just came out, would it?  :P

I'm not sure if I like the string so straight, and think, even though it is more realistic, it would look much cooler and pleasing to the eyes with slightly curved, and stylized string.

How's this?  I'm not sure about it, though.  I think it needs more to take it from looking like a traced image, and into a whole design.  But that's jsut me, and I'm not sure if you want to get that complicated.  However,  I do think there are things that we could to to turn this into an awesome t-shirt, I'm just not sure what, now.

We are definitely living on Earth, as anyone who would believe others were made to serve us is infinitely foolish.  :snotty-upturned-nose-smiley:

And for those who question why Baghead is awesome, only when the questions become more important than the answers, will the solutions emerge.

And this reminds me of a French Canadian short film about a guy named Bagman, which is insanely horrific, yet insanely hilarious, which I shall not post here for the minors that might be reading.  Although I can say that if you do not not type in Bagman on YouTube you may or may not see the first three results be the very film I am talking about.  You have been warned, however.  :P

Holy shiitake mushrooms!  :bowing-down-in-awesomeness-smiley:

And he has this half paying attention look on his face, like he's not even trying to do anything, while he's slowly tearing my dreams apart like a evil insanely talented monster.  :'(

What I've always wondered is how they got the time to do anything over there.  I have school, other activities... sleeping.  I would never have enough time to get that good by that age, even if I could go back in time and start when I was three.  ???

General / Re: Request for a photo for a shirt silhouette

The only thing I would do is change the width's of the lines, and make it look a bit more stylized, and a bit less detailed and exact if you can.

I tried inking it using my Wacom tablet and this is what I came up with:

By the way... In the image above I'm in no way trying to take your idea or anything.  I was merely trying to add to your design creatively.  If that idea gets used for anything, all rights are yours, Eric, and you can do whatever you want with the image, or use a completely different one, or whatever.  Just in case you think anything else.   ;)

Oh, so that's the index finger in there, and the thumb doesn't have the line drawn.  I get it now.    ;D

Yeah, the three white lines for fingers, and then no line for a thumb kinda throws it off, but once you get it it makes more sense.

General / Re: Request for a photo for a shirt silhouette
« on: July 30, 2008, 10:56:14 PM »
look closer Mr smartness (Temps).  INCLUDING the thumb, there is a total of four fingers.

That's a common trick used in cartooning, though, to only use four fingers.  For some reason in drawings, five fingers looks somewhat unnatural and especially in animation it is harder to get it to look right.  If you look at almost any cartoon out there (and no, Anime and Manga aren't cartoons... I mean the good stuff  ;) ), there's always four fingered hands.

I was moved.  To think of all you can get through, and how your "diabolos of pure love"  can go there with you along the way.

Oh, and I'm so glad your hands were part of the 30% that didn't get burned along with your body.  They look perfectly fine.   :P
