I thought I'd start the BJC thread of because today is the last day of the pre-pre reg so if you book before midnight (gmt) you'll save £20 on the door price.

Also, which day is the BYJOTY this year?
I have booked weekend tickets, though I am not sure if I can come along for BYJOTY without buying another ticket.

Are any diaboloists considering entering byjoty this year?

Also there's been a request for a .ca meet up/trickshare. Last years was we'll attended, it's a good way of getting to know who's who and tends to be a fairly relaxed way to pick up some new moves. Anyone got any thoughts about this or have I just volunteered myself to sort this out?

On the workshop front, offers to run these are always welcome so If anyone has any requests or more importantly offers then now might be a good time to get things moving. Workshops can cover specifics or be general, be aimed at any or all levels and are best planned out in advance. If you fancy running one but don't want to commit before the bjc starts there is traditionally a method of organising them when on site, generally a large grid where you can book a time/space.

Also if anyone fancies helping the event out please consider volunteering some time. The event, like most juggling conventions, is ran by volunteers, if this was not the case the prices would have to go up considerably. Litter picking, badge control, reg desk, marshaling, helping with site set up/tear down, running workshops, all this helps. There should be volunteer coordination at the reg desk (typically) but even if you don't want to commit time officially just helping out where you can would be appreciated. (At the very least get rid of your own rubbish)

Cool, looking forward to meet you there Looby! I ran a workshop last year at BJC. I don't think I'll repeat it this year, but I'm totally up for a more informal extra-string theory session!

YES LOOBY!!! Been too long since you, Jack and myself have had a good little session (this means I'll be there too. And Jack)

And I heard your workshop was brilliant Ceri-Anne though I didn't get involved because I didn't have any carbons with me, a problem I intend to remedy this year.

I've just looked at the facebook event page for BJC and they've released a preliminary list of props that there will be workshops for, diabolo wasn't on there!!!

After speaking to Sean_ I've emailed the organisers and tried to arrange 2 workshops, another Diabolo.ca trick share like last year, just to get everyone together, and my friend Jack and I are going to do one on mini-g variations and integrals.

Was just wondering if anyone else would volunteer to lead a workshop? Maybe someone that can do 3d could do a hover start workshop or something? Maybe Ceri-Anne could repeat her string theory workshop? (sorry if this is putting you on the spot, I know you mentioned earlier in the thread that you don't have plans to do it again this year)

I think that we're all passionate about our prop of choice, so much so that we've joined forums and are willing to travel to conventions, and it would be a shame if it wasn't really represented this year.
