i sooo like the 51 siteswap in this game.. but a bit of hardwork for the fingers (you know, still pressing the 5 and 1).. at least it's something different than just "sometimes" press the 6     :D

Here's the new version:

BIGGER - I can barely fit it on my laptop screen.

BETTER?- I hope so. There are many rules changes. No more high scores by holding down one key. You've got to mix it up. Suns get big scores and you get more points for doing a sun under a low throw. I'm also experimenting with a new error equation. It's pretty hard.

BETA- Thanks alot for playtesting. I've used or plan to use many of your ideas. Keep sending them in. (James, I really want to figure out the high score list. Stay tuned.)

I can code quite a bit of php and MySQL, so if there's anything I could help with to do with that just let me know :).

And by the way, in the new version it lets you do suns with more than one diabolo if you press 1 before the start.  If you start the 2D version and hold 1 then your score rockets up and the diabolos are never dropped...

Thanks, James, I've got that bug fixed now.

I'd love to accept your help on the High Score List. My problem is that my server won't allow PHP or PERL scripts. Any ideas for a workaround? Possibly when the program is finally done, someone will host it for me and we can get the list then.

I could host it.  I have a hosting package with PHP support, unlimited space, bandwith and databases.  If you're interested let me know and I'll setup a subdomain.

This new one is hard.
On all the versions so far 4242 doesn't work very well. The pattern goes out of time event though its a valid swap. 5201 has the same problem.
Thanx

Thanks Pete, that's exactly the sort of input I need. unfortunatley, trying to fix it has set off a domino effect inside my code and right now the whole thing is a disaster. It may be a while before I get it fixed.

Playtesters? Are you willing to have another go at this?

http://www.ukmania.co.uk/diabolo/manschew/

Errors have been turned off to make testing easier. (it's kind of fun that way!)

Siteswaps are working - I think.  Physics have been totally reworked. test out your favorite siteswaps, please.

Also, please test high score list. be sure to enter your name in the lower right hand corner. (Still working on this interface.) Click on link to visit high scores page.

Note NEW URL, thanks to James Isaac who is hosting and helping!

441 is fine, 5201 still goes a bit wonkey, 424242 doesn't seem to work. 531 doesn't work. 6420 doesn't work buy on the other hand 64300 does (i know its invalid).
This new one is great fun but you seem to be able to do invalid siteswaps.
But you can do some outrageous things because they're invalid.

We're getting there!

http://diabolo.ukmania.co.uk/manschew/

Siteswaps now work pretty well. You should be able to do most legal sequences and a few illegal ones, too. Thanks to Pete for sharing his siteswap knowledge. Basically, I had to forget the physics and fudge the numbers until the timing worked out.

Hey James, can you reset the highscore list? I can't get it to clear.

Much better. Siteswaps are working fine. Slight problem though. All the throws don't come back to the right hand (left side of the screen) far enough which makes you drift to the right. IF you start and just leave it you will see what i mean.

Ok, cleared it.  All you have to do is delete the .txt file and it will create a new blank one.

Kind of wierd though, as I deleted the file, then played the game once and got a high score, all in the space of about a minute, but when i got to the high score list there were already 5 scores by Sean  :?

The siteswaps are great now though :D.  Only it seems that the diabolos seem to drift quite a bit to the right of the screen.

Edit The high scores table is filled up now and I'm the only person in it whose name isn't set as Sean.  Perhaps you should make the name part a bit more obvious ;)
