Cutting Room
« on: November 12, 2013, 06:29:56 PM »
Hey and Hello!

I recently viewed some footage I filmed this summer and since I wasn’t fully satisfied with it at the moment I shoot it, it became just some unused data on my hard drive.
But as I found this beat by Gramatik (Link) I couldn’t resist to do something with it.
The result is this Video:

Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Daf-0qU5deg&feature=c4-overview&list=UUGqx8vey9z9WHEJFLwDwEiA

Most of the juggling-videos are made to show the tricks the juggler does but, nearly in every video, this results in pretty boring shots where the tricks might be cool but not the filming/editing.
My plan with this video was to create a high amount of dynamic perspectives, cuts, and camera movements while you still can enjoy the tricks.

So I hope I can get some feedback about; if you think I reached my goal and weather you think it is a good goal to put a higher priority to the editing rather to the juggling.
Or if the Juggling becomes to hard to follow because of the amount of cuts.

Just leave your thoughts here!

Peace!

Duncan

Too. Many. Cuts.

Cannot follow the tricks because of the edits.

Music was good.

Normally I wouldn't like this kind of thing, and would agree with Duncan. Can I follow the tricks easily? No, but I get the impression of them. But I enjoyed it. I think it was well made, and I liked it for itself, rather than in comparison with other vids.

More cuts than a 13 yearold emo chick with unlimited supply of razors.

I would love to see these clips in their full glory, they look really nice and the tricks look fresh. Could you maybe upload just the normal clips without alot of editing?

I really liked it. I don't know what it was it just kind of felt the music. It seemed less about the tricks and more the flow.

That was Epic. i really enjoyed it! Fresh Moves and a Fresh way of presenting them.
I think you need to think about where the cuts are happening though. After all you need to remember that people watch the videos because they want to see what your tricks are like so if you cant really understand whats happening during them then its pointless. However i really loved the idea behind it maybe if you try cutting down the crazy editing a tiny bit so that the style is still there but the tricks are more visible then i think it would've been perfect.

Keep up the Crazy!
