Diabolo wrapped in string
« on: June 11, 2014, 05:06:51 PM »
Hi Evrybody,

I'm from the netherlands and started playing with te diabolo 4 years ago. I only play it like 6 weeks in a year. Now I'm on the high level that I want to do more difficult tricks. But I've got the problem that when I want to spin the diabolo really fast, its rolls up in the string. I have tried alot of things to not make it do that. But I still can't figurw out why it does spin up.
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

this is the diabolo I have (mine is blue):

There are so many things that could possibly be going wrong that I'd honestly suggest recording yourself doing diabolo so it could be more easily diagnosed by someone not able to watch you in person, or give examples of the kinds of moves you're trying to do where this problem kicks in.

My tips: 1. Dont spin the diabolo too fast. You dont need much spin for a most of the tricks.
             2. Try to change your string.

That is cute.

Apart from filming yourself, have you tried using the search feature (text box in the upper right corner of the forum)? This is a common topic and I am sure there are already several explanations that will help you a lot.
