D.ca 2015 collaboration interest?
« on: July 27, 2015, 05:27:30 PM »
It's that time again (probably). We made it to our 10th anniversary last year and our 8th(?) straight collaboration video. It would be awesome if we could make it 9 in a row. People of all skill levels should feel free to contribute if this gets off the ground (I promise to get off my lazy ass and contribute this year).

The biggest question right now is: does anyone want to volunteer to edit this year's collab video?

I thought the poll we used last year was fun. I'll send some clips in for sure.

even concept collabs could be great. 1d collab, 2d collab etc.... at least I would enjoy this sort of things.

I would love to send in some videos because this is my first year with diabolo.ca. If you guys could show me how to send in some or give me any information when to start sending some in that would be great

Once we've settled up on who will edit, we'll get the information together.

I don't have exams, university or any of that malarkey and have really enjoy the editing process so i'd be happy to put my name in the mix.

However having Lucas (if he's free and willing) or someone who is a real whizz at this sort of stuff + has all the software and royalty free music could be good.

Graham: thanks for offering! Could you link us to some videos of yours so we can see some examples of your work?

Also, if/once a few names start getting thrown around, we'll set up a poll like last year and pick the editor that way.

I'll be in to do this again. This time I would split it in as 1d, 2d 3d excalibur, durendal videos. Maybe there could be different editor for each of them. I would also ask 8bit composer to compose new music for it explaining in what is happening.

This year I might even use AE just because fun of it. so count me in on poll thingy.

As a preference video, few new ones are in the oven but collab 2014 might do it as well.

Cheers,

Rauli

I think re-using the poll like last year is a good thing if several persons want to edit the collab. I'll try and contribute with some more original tricks  :)

I searched in the last year collab. post, and Lucas submitted his name for this year! Would be great to have you in the poll!  ;)

I will sum up. We are really running out of time. So let us choose an editor until 10th of September. I think that is enough time for people to think whether they want to participate.

Candidates so far, in order of when they volunteered:
- Graham (exemplary video edited by Graham: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GOaZX16jGo)
- Samuli (exemplary video edited by Samuli: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz7YeWdFkcY)
- Maxi (exemplary video edited by Maxi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqR6D2H6Ie8)
- Lucas (to be confirmed) (exemplary video edited by Lucas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50gu3sHne3k)

Open points:
- Do we want a tematic collaboration? I say yes, I propose a genocide, suicide, minigenocide free collaboration :) So none of this kind of tricks in the collab. It is my own and personal proposition.

Should someone who have permits to make polls on this forum make a poll on the subject?

I'm not really for the thematic collab, maybe it would be easier to tell people to do their best to create tricks without too many suicides, or more original things. Banishing some tricks makes it hard for some diaboloists to create things for the collab.

Another possibility would be a thematic filming, which I think would make the collab look prettier, such as with only clips filmed in nature :-)

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what does tematic means? Could you explain further? Thanks
