I have both a Chinese yo-yo and a Finesse Diabolo.  I like my Finesse  100% better.

If you're looking to learn tricks etc, there's no competition really.  Diabolos are better by a mile.

Just a suggestion.

listen, we know you are 11 years old. and i'll admit it, when i was at that age (1998) i didn't have much of a grip on the world either. looking back at forum posts i made in 2002 (age 15/16!) i feel kind of...i dunno, embarrassed? at the way i acted (like a huge newb).

but putting all that aside...it really doesn't excuse you from posting all over the place if anyone has a used diabolo for sale. for one, people rarely sell diabolos...secondly, just save up a bit more money, and get a brand new one. it's a lot easier, and it's really not a big deal.

Does anyone know where to buy a traditional Chinese wooden yo-yo?  I know I've heard that they sell them in China, but, surprisingly enough, I don't plan to go to China anytime soon.  All I can find on the internet are those stupid wizzing ones that are made out of plastic.  I want to try to go as traditional as possible, with old time diabolos, etc.  I have also thought about making one, but you can't beat what you can buy.

http://www.circusshop.net/

try here.

its an australian shop, but the owner, Dr. Reg Bolton   HAS got them(or had them), and he knows where to get them all over the world.

ask him, and tell him that Scooby reffered you. 8)   (you may get a better deal)

the problem with the wooden ones is that they break.   SO NO DROPPING!!

there is a plastic one, which is the same, if not better that the traditional one and it doesnt break.

i know that the Cirque Du Soliel (sorry for all the Cirque Analagys)   girls own alot of diabolos, and have around 4 side stage so if one breaks, they can easily get another.

talk to Reg about it, he probably knows more than i do, He Travels the world!

I really hated the plastic Chinese Yoyo I used to have - I think it was Klutz-realted, ug -- however, I did like the whistling.

Has anyone experimented with making a whistling diabolo? I'm thinking of an "evolution" type device that I could screw into my finesse.
