for about a week i have henrys aluminum and the string breaks to easily its annoying
If the ends are smooth the string won't break there. End of story. This has nothing to do with Henrys aluminum. It's the same for all sticks that have metal ends, which is pretty much all sticks (besides wood or Peter's sticks) these days.

I bought a pair of Sundia short carbons, and the string that followed was incredibly durable; it lasted for two months.
Some months ago I bought a reel of the coreless MB yellow string, and I found it incredibly NOT durable (do not buy!). It's wearing out after only a week or so. I have decided to buy a new reel of string, but I don't know weather to go Sundia or Henry's? The Sundia string was very durable, but I've heard so much great about the yellow string from Henry's...

Horses for courses, as they say.  Some people really like the MB string because it is usuable from the start, if a bit stretchy and quick to gum up, but I imagine for performances, it's nice to have something you know what to expect.

Sundia versus Henrys, same rationale.  You've tried Sundia and loads of people like Henrys, so you can't go wrong really.  I use Henrys, but I diabolo so infrequently that my string lasts months before I change it.  And then I regret changing it for weeks.

What's the difference?

Which would you recommend?

really they have a few minor differences i find. go for the fleck, but really stop worrying about what string to use, it's all similar anyway.

ok thanks. you see I bought 25m MB string which turned out very bad, so I ask about the strings before I waste another £10 :)

The difference between the non-fleck and fleck Henrys yellow is that the fleck stuff is newer. Henrys wanted to differentiate their string from the rest. Supposedly it's the same stuff. I don't notice much of a difference if any.

The MB string isn't bad, in fact it's probably almost as popular as the Henrys yellow now I'd think. Priam, Arjan, Martijn, and Ceri-Anne are all using it, for example. I keep one set of sticks with it.

Yeah Babache string is kewl. But they did like Henrys and changed it, it's much more elastic and doesn't have the same feeling  :(
Anyone knows where I could find some old rolls of babache yellow ?

Are you saying the MB yellow string has changed?? That would be a serious problem since I only use that. Hmm.. I have half a roll left... I'd better make some phone calls  8)

On topic: that would seriously prolong my use of a single string I guess!

Yes went there the other day and asked for a 100m yellow roll of it, and they gave me a different one as usual, larger and not as tall, so I asked. They confirmed that it was a new version that is supposed to last longer. The yellow is also less bright, a bit more pale, and from my experience it's life time is shorter than the old one  :(
I went to the factory as second time after testing it to try and buy as many old rolls as I could but someone beat me to it, so there's apparently no more left and I doubt they'll be making it anymore. Perhaps websites still have them in stock, I need to have a look. Maybe we could do a petition for the return of the string and the g2  :-D

Not until you have had a petition for the old Henrys string ;). I have had extensive practice now with the new type and it´s nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Mr.D. Where do you have that choice? Is there a website that still has old Henrys string?

I'm guessing the flecked string is the new one?

Not flecked
Flecked

EDIT: flecked string is new...

Hey, I'm kind of new to the diabolo (2 months I think), But I'm having a real problem with the string in general.

It only really happened on chinese whip thrusts, when the diabolo decides to just wrap up and climb the string. Even when I know the string is an 'open' wrap (opposed to the string rubbing against itself in a wrap) it still happened. I just put this down to fuzzy string; from new it lasted 2 weeks.

So I changed  the string. But now I don't have enough friction for a 2d wrap start; I wrap the second one, give it a slight spin, reach for the handstick, and it's already collided with the first.

My set up includes: Henrys carbon handsticks, Henrys green string, and 2 Henrys Circus'.

Is there something wrong with what I'm using? Am I meant to be changing my string every 2/3 weeks?
Any help or advice would be brilliant. Thanks.

I have 2 sets of sticks.
One for 1D - New string
And one for 2D -old string.
And it works on a rota so when i replace the 2D string the 1D string is used for 2D.
I change the string every 2 weeks probably.

THinking of getting third set for 3D - supppper worn in.
