Oddly enough, there isn't alot of video footage of Bristol conventions of late.  Not sure why, perhaps something to do with the limbo Bristol is currently sitting in between Bungay and a BJC.

a rather belated review of the week.

- Jem, top bloke, couldnt meet anyone nicer, top skills and a top friend.
- Pitching my tent in the dark yet again = pitching on a slope concluding in the most uncomfortable 4 days sleep I'll ever endure.
- Breakfasts consisting of an apple and a sausage roll for 3 days straight.
- Seeing Chiok and Susannah again (even if she didnt remember me ), meeting Tom D and his array of talents including a peroxide blonde set of hair, 300bpm feet, negative space, the list goes on.
- Mark - Check eet owt!
- A 3-6am hyperloop session with sean including vic and bob re-enacments.
- Witnessing Tom D get top score on the Hollywood Bowls' DDR machine LEGEND!
- Magic knotting a fly at Luke Burrage no bars held.
- 2d grinds
- Discovering cheese crackers are a 10 year olds best friend.
- Discovering Morrisons Jaffa Cakes are much better than Mcvities.
- Eating said cakes in about 15 minutes.
- Witnessing an awesome performance by Vux but then feeling gutted that everything I've been working on over the past 2 months is what he's perfected.
- Getting something on video for once. Ta Jem
- Witnessing endless "nothing" tricks.

I reckon that's quite possibly about it.  Awesome convention, much different feeling to it than Crawley which is definitely not a bad thing.  I can only hope I have the time off to go next year, perhaps more prepared for the full on experience that is bristol.

Not sure I'm up for doing a full review, if I do get round to doing it it'll probably be on rec.

I do have to say that messing about after the games on Saturday rocked though yay for diabolo games!

my highlights were...

chucking a diabolo at luke burrage, great fun

our little 2 diabolo galdiators and various other diabolo games sesh

passing diabolos for the first time ever

learnt weird sprinkler entry ( thanks looby )

seeing vux, didnt see his show or see him diaboloing but i saw him!

seeing barnesy run three low so effortlessly

seans lazy yorkshire two diabolo starts

and maybe marks circuses, as he said i should have paid rent on those!

it was a great convention even if i only went for two days but next year maybe ill go for more.

Yep, that was a great convention...and what's more, I managed to get some video footage which I shall put on you tube in the next couple of days (as a new thread?) I guess.

I think the reason why there's not much video footage is because the last thing you want to do is film....when you can juggle! (which is why my vid won't be great but may trigger some memories for some...including the unique 'floating grind' by Looby  )

Will hope to do the vid tommorrow.

I had a great time as always. I was struck down by the annual wrist injury just before I made it down so I was afraid I wasn't going to get much diabolo done but I got a fair bit done. Playing with tweaks, some antispin and antishuffle stuff and the big sprinkler session .

Lovely to meet all the old hands and meet up with some new ones. Sorry I didn't get the chance to diabolo more with you Jem, I seemed to just miss you after finishing my shifts. As Looby mentioned I tend to diabolo mostly at night at festivals. Good sessions with non board memebers Paul and oldskool German street performer Klass.

This was the first time I did the whole of Bristol and it was great.
I slept well in my hammock ate well and enjoyed working with Steph and Annie on the butterfingers stall.
I bubbled in the thursday poker tournament 6th out of 36, all in with QQ against A9 suited - the board gave him a flush and that was me. Barnesy came 5th and was in the money. (Diabolo.ca represent)

What a great JuggCon!
 Thats the first time ive been & I was only there on Sat but it was amaizing to meet all you crazy circus folk! (by the way, I was the Ginger bearded one with the Cardiacs T'shirt!)

 I realy enjoyed trying to swap with that northener although we were both too tired! Good stuff catching that suicide sprincler! Ive worked out from the advice given that I can pass them the other way to 2 people!

 I loved teaching people new stuff & trying to learn what they teach me!

That's my natural hair colour, thankyouverymuch. I had a fantastic time, as always, and it was nice meeting new people. I'll copy an HLGCB from rec.juggling once I've written it.

That northern fella was Mark BMC (who was good to see again as a surprise, just as we were all setting up to fling at Luke).  Some really good diabolo moments for me at Bristol, I never knew hooning diabolos over a net could be so much fun, or chucking one high, picking up another to balance on your head and catching the other.  Some great games there.

The trip out to Cribbs Causeway was well worth the trip to see Tom ripping it up on the "dance" floor (like a madman, you've got to see it to believe it).  Plus finding Luke and myself somewhat equally matched on Dancing Stage was interesting too.  Winning 40p out of a coin machine only for Louie (Looby) to convince me to put it back in and lose it again.  House of the Dead with Eek was good too, though I think he was right about the guns being a bit off.

Playing Jungle Speed with the guys and actually winning a game!  I'll never get the hang of Set though.  Getting the furthest I've ever been in 3 Ball Simon Says before bottling out on a stupid command.  Learning Quantum Fingers from Guy and Sussanah (that's a silent h) and wanting to teach it to everyone, that game rocks.

I'm pretty sure that lil kid only talked to me afterwards because he knew I had more crackers.  Vux had a kick ass routine that ended with and absolute blinder of a trick (sort of a complete release mini-g with a pirouette).  An impromptu show by Séan and Barnesy too late Saturday night whilst wearing a hat I still don't know who's.  A really long and nice chat with Dr. Matt was educational too.

I had a really good time this year, and if BoB goes ahead, I'm definitely gonna try my hardest to get there.  Going all in on QQ isn't a wrong move, just unlucky, even more so to end up just outside the prize fund.

 Was it you Chiok who gave me that advice with the sprinklers? I tried pulling up a bit early & they did a strange wrap/stall!
