Taking care of your equipment.
« on: November 27, 2007, 12:09:23 AM »
I was wondering if there were any threads on equipment care.  If there is, then can someone direct me to it?
Can anybody tell me how to clean a string?  How do you get rid of the scuff marks on your diabolo?  How do you take care of it in general?  And how many of you here are actually Canadian?
If you juggle and you know it, do [insert complex siteswap notation].

Most answers to equipment care questions can be found through the equipment sticky at the top of this section:

Although some people have tried, most people don't clean string. When it gets old and dirty they replace it.

A brillo pad, warm water, and possibly acetone will get scuff marks off most diabolos with a lot of elbow grease.

In general, keep them dry, salt water free, and away from overly rough surfaces and they'll last you a long time.

Not many on the forum are actually Canadian. I am, and hence the ".ca" at the end, but otherwise we have a fairly international audience.
