It turns out finesses are balanced!
« on: February 15, 2008, 02:54:17 AM »
I recieved a white finesse today and i decided to mix it with my blue. I had heard reports that different colors had different weights. I know now that this is not true to the extent that it affects my ability to use the diabolos. Consider this some kind of empirical test, i guess

yes that is the box that it arrived in

My Finesses (G3) Are red+white, as far as I can tell they're balanced enough to maintain a position parallel the the ground without tilting nor turning when spinning for 30 seconds on open string...

Whoopee!

I've used every combonations of white, blue and green also with or without wide axles and/or weight kits. And they've all been perfect.

my green and blues are better now then when they were unmixed,if you are having problems balancing try tightening the bolt more or look very carefully at each cup and the should be a little raised line if you line those up or have them at right angles to each other it seems to fix its balance at least thats what it tells me in my finesse instructions when i bought them

Well, you can't mix a G2 with a G3 and you can't mix an old beat up finesse with a new one, but there is a good chance that mixing two new ones and then balancing them would work without problems

Well I've mixed up blue/yellow/red so you get all the possibilities...
I've never heard that finesses of different colors are of differing weights, however different generations would definitely have different weights.
Based on all that's given and applying the transverse property (or whatever it's called), I'm assuming that all finesse colors weigh the same.
