MPEG Streamclip: A video converter for OS X and Windows
« on: February 24, 2008, 05:27:51 PM »
Since my transition to OS X I have been searching for a good video converter to replace TMPGEnc and VirtualDub. I finally discovered MPEG Streamclip (available for both OS X and Windows).

It's a free, easy to use, and very powerful video converter from almost any video format to almost any video format. One of the many functions is to download a YouTube video by URL and convert it (for iPods among other formats).

Just thought I'd pass this on in case someone else finds it useful.

The Void reccomended this program as an alternative to  Quicktime Pro for H.264 compression some time ago, but it didn't work for me. I don't remember what went wrong though... For now I'm fine with Virtualdub (and Avisynth) and QT Pro. Perhaps I'll use it when I get a Mac :) Thanks for posting Sean.

Does that mean we are likely to see a video soon Sean? :P

Oh and if you need something converting without wanting the software Zamzar is a good way to go. -Includes youtube function!
