Diaboloists - MIA?
« on: February 27, 2008, 04:47:35 AM »
I was thinking about how some diaboloists have stopped diaboloing or gone "missing in action" like JiBe or Baptiste.  I was hoping to make a list of some of these people for a little project that I'm hoping that I could do.  I'll start the list off but if I named someone that is still active then could you correct me too?  thanks.

Pretty sure inactive List
JiBe, Baptiste, Remi
Less active:
Arjan, Norbi, Martijn
Unsure List
Bertrand, Dai

Hehe, so am I. Not as active with practising as I was in the beginning though. Then all the tricks were peanuts to learn! ;D Anyway, I stick to the rules of diabolo, I innovate.

Arjan is doing circus school now and had a break off diabolo, but I'm not sure you should put him on the list. And Norbi is still doing diabolo as far as I know. I think you should define "stopping", before making your list.

Norbi definitely breaks them out once in a while - he was doing a little bit at Chocfest though he said he concentrates more on rings nowadays.

Yeah, that looks better. So why are you putting your time into this in the first place? what project are you talking about?

Hurrah, still being talked about!
Yeah i don't take diabolo to my practice anymore, and haven't for a while. But i take it to juggling club, just to make sure i can still do stuff really  :P
I also practice my routine, but that's it.

It depends what you call active. At the moment I'm only practicing about 1-2 hours a week because of schoolwork and stuff.

Yeah, i haven't seen Ilias on in a long time.
Perhaps he's not allowed to use a computer much during the school year or something.

Niels was on William and Angela's recent video - he's still active, just not as many movies.

John 'S-Fan' Booth is still diaboloing as late as December 2007 and was planning to do the bjc.  I think I already posted about it somewhere, although like many of us, as uni, work, women, beer, kids  get more important and the honey moon period wears off, I think we all practice a little less and try to spend our time thinking of fun new tricks when we do.

J.Booth turned up unexpectedly at the BYJOTY last year and performed a cracking and entertaining routine, maybe we have the same treat in stall for this year?
