I'm interested in what things or places u guys have done grinds on
the scope of possobility is practically endless.
a couple of years ago I used to amuse my self sending my diabolo away from me on a tightrope grind and letting it grind back. (not so original)
I also have managed to grind a ridiculusly long surf casting fishing rod
which looks really cool cause it bends in half and ur diabolo is kept on by the little ringlet thing on the end (slightly more original)
But what got me started on this is a couple of days ago after I joined this site I was diaboloing in my room and managed to do a beanbag grind
so I tried it again and then flicked it up with the end of the stick and kept diaboloing
(very original)
Look forward to hearing ur crazy stories!

That's reminded me of a game I've played a few times. Two people face each (assuming they're both right handed) other either side of a rope or something else suitable for dropping diabolos onto. They then drop their diabolos onto the rope and let them crash in the middle. The one whose diabolo falls off first loses. Splendid.

I had cable installed and they strung the cable across my courtyard at an altitude of about 9 feet (I call it the limbo line). I like to grind on that

I Hear Dreadlock Grinds are pretty good as well
I've considered just growing one long manky piece of hair just to do grinds on. that would be commitment!

Don't forget the "Ofek Grind". (Also known as the pant drawstring grind.)
You'll find it in the videos section of the
Shilton's site
. The video is called: "Ofek - 1 diabolo new trick - called "Ofek Grind" (3.2 MB)" and is the 5th video from the bottom.

This one isnt as great or funny as your guys, but one time I got one of my old used up diabolo string(still kinda long) then tied a fishing weight(about 2 ounces or something) then tied the string onto a air vent on my ceiling, and threw the diabolo on the string. It just wrapped up then unwrapped again. But one time it wrapped once, then unwrapped and threw back at me. Pretty cool.

I also did a washing line grind today, end to end. Gotta be spinning real fast for that to work though.

I did a grind on a wire/electric cable spanning the streat 6-7 meter above ground, It was an amazing trick when it worked. I culdnt nail it more than about one time in 20, so I gave it up after a while...
Maybe you culd do a grind on a cat just to get lots of static electricity and then tell a kid to bring you the diabolo... they will jump in a funny way

It didn't wreck mine at all, they are fine after countless times of grinding on a telephone wire!
