Sprinkler Exits

Recently I've been looking at different kinds of sprinkler exits than just the normal suicide or unwrap.  Mostly, when you let one diabolo miss the string.  Here, one of two things might happen, depending on which diabolo misses the string:

1. Everything works out nicely, one diabolo becomes frontwrapped and the other is open.

2. One diabolo is caught in a serious knot that slows it down quickly, the other sits below it, seemingly open.

What I want to know is if anyone has found a way out of the second variation.  I've looked at it for a while now, and cannot seem to find a way out.  If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be appreciated.

Are you sure you don't mean it gets in a knot depending on which SIDE the diabolo misses on. With a normal sprinkler, if you move your right stick towards you, then they tangle up pretty quick. I got out of that once by mistake and I don't know how I did it!
