REAL Slowmotion Diabolo Video
« on: May 15, 2008, 12:19:19 PM »
Check this out.
Recorded with a 150 frames per second camera(No interlace, no shutter speed, no fill lights) at Alternative's Studio garden in Krakow, Poland.

It's Real Slowmotion, there are no drop frames like in all the the fake juggling slowmotion videos i've seen until today (ok, i think the moon video for discovery channel was Real Slowmotion, but dunno if more frames per second or just more shutter speed and lot of fill light)
It was just to experiment, most of the tricks are not clean, but i decided to edit something for all of you in my free time.
Music from Playground (Bilbao, basque country)

Enjoy

I think I finally learned what to watch for when trying a couple of the early tricks in the video. Cool.

Normally i'd be bored rigid by a video with excalibur genocides and integrals, but that was incredible. You make it look easy and the slow motion enhances this so much. I think this video will really help me learn a couple of tricks so thanks very much.

edit1: What i really like is the way that for some of the tricks your body doesn't move at all, it's like you're completely removed from the diabolo process and magic is happening. You're probably only still for a couple of seconds, but on the video its amazing.

Now any chance of getting dave from the grave to make a video with a similar camera, i really wanna see that crazy sprinkler thing in this quality.

edit2: Actually did you video any footage of 2 diabolos? I'd love to see a sprinkler or fan done in super slow mo. Please show us more ;)

I thought that visualy it looked great! Not sure if the best trcks were used as infinite suicides and continuous mini gens get very tedious at that speed. Hopefully alot of people can learn from the video though as Its always helpful to see something slower.

i think that this video really shows the 'subconscious' side of diaboloing. for example, look at how the mini genocide releases peak perfectly and how the vertax genocide travels down at the same speed as the falling diabolo. it is that subconscious level of diaboloing that allows people to learn hard tricks without having to practice an insane amount and without much thought.

i would also like to see some more slow motion stuff

I like how the colour of your diabolo matches your clothes and hair.

That's made me feel just the slightest bit moist.  I reckon a bit of Pavarotti could have gone well with it, Nessun Dorma if we're being specific.

I done something similar last year.  My housemate's LG Viewty phone can record at 120 FPS  at quarter speed.  It's nothing compared to Monregi's effort but it isn't bad for the camera on a mobile phone.

Wow! That was amazing! Those hard tricks seem so easy but are so hard!

Its a really good video to learn from.. Why not create some cool tutorials in that slowmotion?

And may I ask how long you have been diaboloing for?

The Infinite Suicide Combo around 1:35 was amazing!
