Hi everyone - I recorded a short tutorial about exporting your footage the way I'd like you to :) Also, make sure you're importing the original footage, before trimming and exporting your clip

http://diabolo.ca/collab/wmm_tutorial.avi

If you've got any questions, feel free to post 'em here. If you have submitted already, but feel like you can improve the quality by using this method, please don't hesitate to send in your clips again.

Thanks for putting that together Martijn. It's really not that complicated, and I'm sure the screencast will help lots of people out.

This is for Windows Movie Maker by the way. We'll assume that if you're using something else, you already know what you're doing.

If anyone needs help exporting DV-AVI with iMovie, I can make a screencast of that.

I can't see the video... the page don't open...
I'll try to download it in my computer later...
I'm sending a video now but I'll send others, I can upload it again if you need...
but I still have my question:

we recorded in 640x480 30 fps... is it better than 320x240 60 fps???

[tomorrow video: two person with one diabolo, we had cool ideas...]

It's not a page, it's a video file. Right click and download it to your computer.

640x480 30 fps would be better. Ideally you borrow a real video camera, but 640x480 is probably good enough.

a question for you guys - my camcorder can record in HDV and DV modes, but while HDV should be high def, it seems not to capture yoyo with as high quality as DV does. just go DV?

Go for DV. That's what everything else will be in anyways and having equivalent formats would probably be most helpful. HDV is probably overkill for internet compressed videos anyways.

Hello everybody.

I have decided to extend the deadline with a week to get your clips in. After that date I might be able to fit your clip(s) in, but I can't promise anything.

You've got until Sunday 7 September!

When it's ready. Not before. You'll hear about it when it does. Now go and practise your 4d low in the meantime.  :P

Martijn mentioned before that the "official" deadline is approaching, but depending on what stage he is within the editing process, he may be able to accept videos after the deadline. In fact, he will be able to accept them for a bit, but there's no telling when will be too late, so if you want a guaranteed shot, get it in soon.

And this:
I'm pretty sure I can speak for Martijn and say it will be out whenever it is done. It's a HUGE job and we all have other commitments in life too. Just put it in the back of your mind and be surprised when it gets released. Good things are worth waiting for. ;)

Having done it last year, I can attest that it is a HUUUUGE job. Let's all give him a little peace and quiet and free time to be creative and reward us all with an awesome video.
