Quality problems with diabolo products

Do you have a problem with something in particular?  I've never really had problems with quality on any of my diabolo stuff, but Henry's have a good reputation for after sales care, and I'd imagine the other main manufacturers do as well.

Also, the shop you brought stuff from will most probably be very helpful if you take a reasonable problem to them.  

Or maybe it's cheap stuff, in which case you kind of gets what you pays for!

Not so long ago I bought 2 weight kits for the finesse. Each pack had 1 screw which was crushed, hence the thread was fu***d and un-usable. Doesnt really seem enough to be sendin em back though! It has proved a mission to find other screws though!

subsequently does anybody know the actual size or how to measure the screws for finesse weight kits? Some extra bolts may be handy too! Sean built his own weight kits. Maybe you can help???

Yes. Take one of the nuts with you to a hardware store and try out screws until you find something that fits. Easy enough?

I bought a normal pair of wooden handsticks (they came with a beginers diabolo) and not long after i had them one of them snapped while i was whipping, wheather this is me or bad quality sticks i haven't got round to doing anything about it since because i had carbon fibres on order (when they arrived they were fine for my whipping) well thats one of the things i have found with poor quality. i really liked these stick aswell they were quite light and thin and suicides were really easy with them, oh well.

there be none of them kinda shops round my parts. The ones I went to didnt have the right size knocking about so I was debating maybe ordering them off the net or somethin. Thats why I was wonderin about the size. Good advice though!!!!

Well, I would recommend just taking it with the but to a hardware store, they know lots about nuts and bolts, if it is a bolt.  To measure, you measure the diameter of the threaded end, which should be a whole number of mm, or just round it.  They will then have a designation of M3, M4 etc for a 3mm dia bolt or a 4mm bolt.  If it's a european bolt, this should be the standard and everything will fit together nicely.  If it's not, then you could have alot of trouble trying to match UK, Whitworth etc bolts to nuts that use all sorts of funny values before standardisation.

Or, find a new nut and bolt and drill a larger hole if needed, or use some washer.  Or just fudge it with glue.

I bought 2 G2's at the BJC05 and both have an annoying sound when dropped, like there is something loose. My best guess is that its the small nuts moving about.

Question time:

Is this normal?
Can it be fixed? e.g. spot of glue
Should I remove them until weight kits or LED kits are attached?

My finesse had the same noise before I bought weight kits. I found the smallest bit of blutac to hold em still did the trick

100% normal. It's just the nuts on the sides rattling. I always remove them unless I'm using them to screw in weights or lights. Usually you will need an appropriately sized screw to help pull them out.

You can buy them at any hardware store if you need them for weight kits or lights. Just match the nuts to the screws that come with the weights/lights.

i stuck some little lights from a bike shop on my diabolo and its nearly as good as diabolo lights and a lot cheaper !

There is supposed to be screws in them  im pretty sure mine din't come wiht any when i ordered them from firetoys.

All the ones I have seen just come with the little nuts ready for lights or weights. these are the things that rattle so some people remove them, blu tac them or leave well alone.

I went to to get my second Generation finesse and there were definitely no nuts in the holes so i checked the other generation 2s in there and there was none in them either!

I had ordered a pair of henry's carbon fibres sticks from fire toys, And i was just wondering how long are henry's carbon fibre hansticks supposed to last for? Well i've had mine for just under 2 months and i've treated them properly and cared for them but yesterday i was whipping to speed the diabolo and i stopped and realised one of my sticks were bent. It was a real dissapointment aswell because i had just recieved a finesse Generation 2 and i only used it a couple of turns with my carbon fibres. I don't think this is normal because my friend has had his for alot longer than me and he uses them in the same as me he also has a heavier diabolo, so can anyone tell me what i should do about this,(refund)?

It's unfortunate, but it's not abnormal. The Henrys carbon fibres can break at any time. Usually they last for a very long time, but because of the nature of the stiffness of carbon they can be a tad brittle. They can last for 3 years or they can last for 2 days. I would talk to the shop you bought them from and see if they'd be willing to work something out.
