Request for a photo for a Diabolo.ca shirt silhouette
« on: July 29, 2008, 08:47:27 PM »
Edit - I now have some silhouettes up at: http://diabolo.ca/sil

Please have a look through and add comments in this thread. Thanks!

I'm going through some ideas for a Diabolo.ca shirt redesign. I have something I'm satisfied with for the front. One possibility for the back is a silhouette of a diaboloist or of diabolo gear. If you have a photo that might work, please post it here. You don't need to make it into a silhouette yet, although if you can, that's great too.

We're looking for dynamic and interesting yet identifiable positions and ideally on relatively simple backgrounds.

If your photo (i.e. you took the photo) or design gets used, you get a free shirt. Simple. Nonetheless, feel free to suggest photos you've seen around, although we'd ultimately have to get the owner's permission first.

Alex!

Okay, I inked the design, so how's this for a rough concept?

And I can change it to anything, different trick, pose, different idea altogether...  I'm open.  ;)

Or I could invert it just as easily.

I don't like it that much... I rather have a silhouette of someone in action. 3 high, a stick release, a body position, something like that.

Same, I don't like it...sorry.  Reminds me of that chick from Genie in a bottle woman thing.

I like Will's, except that the diabolos are to uh wide apart/height gap too small.  Looks like he just did a 3up multiplex to drop, not running 3 high :S

Me raping a diabolo doesn't work well with a silhouette :(

Most peoples hands have four fingers, the diabolo is balanced on the thumb in case you hadn't noticed...

It's good to see some designs coming out. Don't feel you have to make a silhouette though. All we need is a good photo of you or someone else diaboloing that might look good as a silhouette.

That's a common trick used in cartooning, though, to only use four fingers.  For some reason in drawings, five fingers looks somewhat unnatural and especially in animation it is harder to get it to look right.  If you look at almost any cartoon out there (and no, Anime and Manga aren't cartoons... I mean the good stuff  ;) ), there's always four fingered hands.

and all you others, the thumb wasn't visible, and I may have been too lazy to add the line that outlined the big muscle part of the thumb....

Oh, so that's the index finger in there, and the thumb doesn't have the line drawn.  I get it now.    ;D

Yeah, the three white lines for fingers, and then no line for a thumb kinda throws it off, but once you get it it makes more sense.
