Ok, so I found the stock photo (much higher resolution) and redid it, one to show what it is, and the other the actual submission (I CAN make it even more detailed if need be).

The only thing I would do is change the width's of the lines, and make it look a bit more stylized, and a bit less detailed and exact if you can.

I tried inking it using my Wacom tablet and this is what I came up with:

By the way... In the image above I'm in no way trying to take your idea or anything.  I was merely trying to add to your design creatively.  If that idea gets used for anything, all rights are yours, Eric, and you can do whatever you want with the image, or use a completely different one, or whatever.  Just in case you think anything else.   ;)

I'm not really into photo-editing etc. so I only have an un-edited picture. Have posted it before I think, maybe it will look o.k. as silhouette, don't really know :P

how do you post pics

You need to upload the image you want to show to a site first (photobucket works, or the .ca gallery), then put your photo's link between the [ img ] [ /img ] tags (minus spaces) to have them show up in your post.

So, minus the spaces, it'd be like [ img ]www.whateverlinkitis.com/painoimageofdiabolowhichishopefullyawesome/[ /img ]

Clear enough? Or have I missed the question.

looks like it could use a little smoothing, maybe rasterize or vectorize it (still blurry on the difference between the two)

basic idea is brilliant, though

Oh yeah, I have always loved that photo Marijn. Maybe we can lengthen the string and add another stick? Sean - you up for trying to make a nice silhouette outta that pic?

Thanks for the effort Paino. Like Martijn said, I like it better when both sticks are visible.

How's this?  I'm not sure about it, though.  I think it needs more to take it from looking like a traced image, and into a whole design.  But that's jsut me, and I'm not sure if you want to get that complicated.  However,  I do think there are things that we could to to turn this into an awesome t-shirt, I'm just not sure what, now.

~1100 photos later... getting a "natural" and interesting pose for a silhouette is harder than I thought.

Any jaggedness is the result of compressing and scaling the image for the web. They are all smooth vectors.

These would work as shown on some coloured shirts, or by changing the silhouette colours to say white and red they could work on a black shirt. No, I don't intend to have the signature or "sample" text on the actual shirt. ;)

With the next one I'm not so pleased with the way the arms cross the body and get lost in a silhouette. There are also copyright issues... although I can't make out the name on the photo. Marijn, do you know who owns the photo?

Great silhouettes Sean. I like them more and more everytime I see them. I'd love to see a few 1d silhouettes as well though :)

The stick in Marijn's silhouette is a bit weird - I never see a genocide flying like that :P And he's missing the lower part of his body (just like the 2d anti suicide from Sean), which is a shame.

I know who ''owns'' the photo, this is her contact page

(She probably also has a high-res version somewhere...??)

The 2d anti-suicide gets my vote for now. The fact that the legs are missing actually makes it even more stylish
