Mr Babache Finesse Light Kits -- can they not absorb impact?
« on: October 21, 2008, 01:34:15 AM »
Hello,

The light kit for my Finesse Babache Diabolo seems to short out - or something - on impact. When I'll miss the diabolo and it'll hit the ground - often times the light just goes out. If I tap the side of the diabolo with my sticks - it goes lit again. The problem's not with batteries - I keep them charged.

Anyone have this problem? I looked at the wiring, all connections seem to be in order, so it doesnt look like it's shorting.

Check the metal connectors that go onto the battery. One of mine used to do it, and it was the little metal bit that touches the battery it simply needed bending back.

How'd you break them?

I ruined my last set at Burning Man this year - the alkaline charged dust and electronics dont mix.

@Hathaway: Check. That actually was the exact culprit.

Yeah thought it may be. Pretty poor design, you would have thought it would have been easy and obvious enough to stop something like that happening!
