Hi
I own two Sundia Flys with wide bearing axles. I just started doing 2d and can shuffle, but not correct. I love the bearing axles, but find them a bit inconvenient for 2d, since they wont shuffle on their own without me pushing them around, but fall down in the middle and crash, if you get what I mean...
Thus, is it possible to do Sprinkler with two bearing diabolos?

Should I buy a pair of fixed axles (wide/narrow) for the Flys or just keep working with my wide bearing axles?
Or maybe just buy a pair of circus or some other diabolo...?

you can do any trick with bearing except string climbs or tricks that involve friction of the string with a wrap

sprinklers are possible and even easier with bearings

but if you are just learning 2 diabolos i recommend going with a fixed axle

Fixed axles will make it 100x times easier. Bearings make it all a lot more stressful — I struggle to do even the basics.

Some observations:

• You can't (easily) do a string climb
• Sprinklers are possible but don't last for long due to lack of friction
• RHFW knot transfer where you unwrap it with your left stick is impossible (for me at least).
• Changing the direction with a left wrap/unwrap (e.g. to start a fan) is impossible because of the ratchet.
• Single wrap accelerations can only maintained with a lot of huge flailing motions.
• String control is slightly harder but antishuffle is easier.
• Fans are harder to control (may just be me)

imo it's worth it to buy some fixed axle diabolos or fixed axle fly kits.

Fans should be easier as they won't lose speed. Sprinklers will be harder as there is little friction to push the diabolo's around, which is similar to why you have to push the shuffle. Most left wrap stuff is possible with some slight tweakage of style. I would recomend getting fixed axle's for learning 2d and its nice to have some spare anyway.

wide. fixed fly is a mighty fine diabolo. unless you want more anyways:)

i agree with funty. but if you want to shell out a little bit more i suggest taibolos. they are reduced right now (v1) and i LOVE mine

dont go for tiabolos over fixed flys. though tiabolos get alot of power quickly flys hold their speed/power for much longer and in my opinion are more stable, go for tiabolos if your going for 3 because they're alot lighter.

obviously this is all personal preference but if you were going for new i'd go suns or circi or even check the most popular diab thread again which i think is finnesse by quite a way.


p.s they're both lovely diabolos but obviously my preference is the fixed fly. but i like the weight:)

 flys are less stable than taibolos but are easier to correct ive got taibolos and bearing/ fixed flys and id say taibolos are better for 2d

agreed.
tbh i think you should try out all of the diabolos before you buy, but obviously that isn't always possible.
i'd go with circus with allround axle.

I think that a bearing diabolo is the best in vertax,bodys and slackwhips
i recomend 2 diabolo and 1 diabolo(except vertax,bodys and slacks)with fixed axle (like circus,finesse or taibolo) because if you getting used to bearing axles problably you can´t do the same trick with fixed axle

I never said that they aren't good diabolos or that they aren't stable...they just aren't as stable as a fly.

the tiabolos are great diabolos but i gave mine to a friend when i got my fixed flys. but yeah you'll probably not get a straight answer from here, if you can get to a juggling club or a shop try them out before you buy:)

I've decided to buy new lighter diabolos with fixed axles for 2d, so my new question is:

Taibolo, Finesse or Circus with allround kit for 2d ?

taibolo (V.1) is alot cheaper, but does the prize reflect the quality...? I've seen many using finesse (often with some +weights), but does the rubbery cups make them hard to correct? What about Circus?

I find that the heavier the diabolo the more stable it is, especially with 3D, but with technique you develop through practice it doesn't really matter what you use.

to be honest, whatever you get, you will get used to. It will, of course, be a change, but no matter what high end diabolo you buy, it will be good. Just make a decision and stick to it.

I use finesse without problems, I have circi with ultra-light hubs and they're good too, i haven't tried taibolos but really any of the big names will serve you well. You could even check out duncan's diabolos since they're so much cheaper I really think they just need a good test, and all the negative comments right now is just the kinks being worked out

in diabolomoves de taibolos v1 cost about 18pounds so it´s about 20€.

finesses and circus are a few more expensive than taibolos ,almost double

i think there arent so difference but it´s your decision
