Blimey.  I see Donald wasn't joking about the size of the stage.  Intimate!

Ha! Donald was wondering how long it would be before someone posted it here. I wonder if he's got the fast version  on tape somewhere....

Oh, it's here finally. Got this on cd from Donald during the summer.
Seems like he didn't hesitate on publishing it anymore.

Good stuff. A Classic with capital C. Love the stuff and so does my alter ego. ;)

Oh i have no doubts about the double speed. He can do it. Had a battle / jam /
performance with him beginning of last FDC in front of public. (Yeah LZ, you were still sleeping).
He did some of that stuff at twice a speed. If it was a battle, i'm sure i lost.

Not a fan nor a sprinkler in sight either...

The old school style can sometimes be the best,
when executed with such style and finesse.  ;)

Very clear and no drop - thats nice.

Maybe its because i'm just two years in the jugglinbusiness, but i don't like the oldschoolstyle - its so unsmooth. Still it was a good performance

Oh that was all what diabolo was about, when i started. And still is.
That is the act that i would show to anybody who hasn't seen diabolo before.

Scrat, oh you new age diabolist. ;) That's what those mad french did to jugglers.
The world of diabolo has changed, that's for sure. But have the spectators changed?
That's something to think about.

Phenomenal. Now that's solid and polished. Nobody else can milk tricks quite like that. I mean, wow, does anyone else dare to get such a reaction out of a web? And the timing of it all. Impeccable. Right down to the slowing of the final throws and the precise synchronization at the end.

I can't help but get the feeling that we're seeing a privileged glimpse of a dying breed. Who will carry on the old-school style? There were comparatively so few who learned during this era of diabolo. We've all been enticed by the short sticks and 2d backwraps.

Did anyone else catch the date? This was filmed in 2003... just before this forum even existed!

Wow, oldschool is still amazing! I can't believe some of the things I saw in there. I love seeing videos where I see something I haven't before, which makes me want to create more.

jeez props on doing that on such a small stage, knowing if you drop there's no room to recover, props to the people too, they had a diabolo spinning inches away from their face the whole time

Oldschool?  :-|
That's pretty much what I've done (except for the Gundam-Perfect-Grade skill) up 'till now.  What the heck is "new-school" style then???!!!  Integrals?  Sprinklers?

New School tricks are tricks that they didnt know "back then": normal infinite suicide, genocides, integrals, slackwhips, vertax, bodyknots, backwrap and chinese acceleration with 2d, sprinklers, fans, 2d transfers/knots, some say even colums are newschool, but dont know about that.. low 3d and 4d anyway :)

Style isnt that simple as there is lots of ugly and beautiful (or sloppy and smooth) aspects in both schools.. and with tricks its not that simple either, Donald showed us some "old" tricks in FDC last autumn and there was at least few ideas that are very modern even today.. diabolo have changed a lot in 5 years and i believe it means that we have forget a lot..
