Does anyone have another way to start 2 Diabolo loop other than the way shown in the Yukky video near the end? (http://www.circuspla.net/mirror/yukky.wmv)

I believe if you go to barnsey's site www.2diabolo.net he has some useful information about loop diabolo and about doing 2D on a loop.  It's where I learnt everything about loop diabolo from.  Now it just kinda burns on the hands.

I start by getting one diabolo going in the loop.
I then hold the loop in my left hand, and insert my left elbow
into the loop. I then rotate my hand/elbow so they are level
(and the loop is basically a triangle).

I then take the other diabolo in my right hand and throw it
onto the string with some back spin. I then grab the loop with both
hands and get the shuffle going just as if I had hand sticks. Once it
is going I can switch to one hand.

Nothing fancy about it, but it gets you going.

I just got it a few days ago.  Rocket start has been working well for me - throw in is not as reliable yet.

Do 2D loop shuffles go around like spinning 1D or do they shuffle like normal 2D with sticks, just out of interest?

With 2D it's more like 2 in one hand when using sticks.  So it's a regular looking shuffle but you need to have the motion of 2 in one hand down to keep them going.  Not sure how you really speed them up other than shuffling faster.
