Diabolo customization.

Hey everyone. THis is draco. I made this topic because I was curious what you guys/girls do to customize your yoyos to make them unique.

For me, I wrote my name on the inside of the cups, bought my favorite color yoyos(green & orange), then swiched it so i have one green cup an one orange cup for a diabolo. So, what are some crazy things you diabolists do to get some unique qualities for your gear?

I remove the silicon handles from my alu sticks so that they are all alu...
I like them that way , and you can do grinds on the other end of the stick as well. Otherwise I use standard gear.

I changed all of my cups around on all 3 of my finesses, but then didn't like it so had to change them all back i like them better that way, i pretty much kept my alu sticks normal but did add white tape to the bottom of them.

P.s arn't the bottom of the alu sticks bottom part made out of dense foam not silicon?

Heh. That sucks. Guess they cant get the order right every time. Anyways, mrpink, dont your hands hurt real bad after you diabolo for a while. I never heard of just using a metal stick. I guess that is pretty unique, can only imagine how blistered your hands are.

No I dont get anny blisters, Not worse than from wooden sticks annyway.
Well actually I got some blisters at the last jugglingconvention I visited.
But nonstop diabolo for days does that whatever gear you use.

After a while your hands get used to it and you don't get blisters.

My main problem is that my hands sweat really badly when i'm usings the Diabolo so i find it really hard to hold on to the dense foam grips and they are always slipping out my hands so i would imagine it to be impossible to keep hold of plain aluminium sticks! :p

I dont find my alu sticks verry "slippery" but i guess its different for everyone.
 The only problem with them is that suicide tricks is hard to do
(less weight => moves faster) and hurts a lot
(no damping foam/silicone to protect you).

Another idea for a non permanent mod of your gear is to squese a
CD into each of the cups of a circus diabolo. It fits verry tigthly at
the little edge inside the cup.  It looks kind of like you have got CDs
squesed into the cups...
This can affect (tremporaly) the stability of  the diabolo and can
cause it to "freak out" if it has loads of spinn.
(dont try to do the "in the hole" grind, I broke 2 cd-s in five atempts...)

Dont do the "finger in the hole" grind, it burns...
And dont drop the diabolo , just broke a third CD doing that

Hehe, Ive tried the cd thing before, surprised others tried it too. Only problem was that the cds were too big, so I taped them on the diabolo. I took it off after about one trick though.

i am hoping to get new gear tomorrow, but my equipment now is standard apart from i spraypainted a black dot the size of a ping pong ball on one of my cups so i can calculate the speed it is spinning at better

1. My first diabolo was painted.
But it didn't last for long. (and our wooden floor at home now has some black striping).


2. Now I have mixed my red en green Henry's Jazz.

i did the cdmod with my finesse(die henrys seem to be to small) and it is very nice!
