Comprehensive Vertax
« on: August 08, 2009, 05:09:02 PM »
Hey guys, I was wondering is there a comprehensive list of all vertax tricks, or if not, could someone make one. There doesn't seem to be a huge amount of base tricks, excluding variations and whatnot. These are all the tricks I can think of -

Trapezes                                       vertax duicides
Suns (overarm/underarm, etc.)          gunslinger thingy
Vertax suicide
Vertax whip
UFO grind
Vertax Genos
Vertax inf. suicides
Under the legs suns
Open Suns

Can anybody think of any more?

Oh, don't even get me started on this. :) You're totally missing these:

Stopovers with sticks, legs, hands
Ufo grind variations, with fingers, kicking diabolo etc.
Orbits body, legs, hands
Stickswitches by throwing
Gyroflops
Changes between different hands and spinning directions
Stick stalls
Grinds with sticks, fingers etc.
Changing planes (like lying on you back while tilting diabolo so that it's vertax for you but normal otherwise)
Hightrows + catching them on backside with 180 turn
Countless acrobatic moves
Passes to others

Oh...and so many more.... I'm actually sad that i can't show you anything since i'm not coming to BJC this year. Maybe in the next BJC then.

sounds exotic! This changing plane thing sounds dangerous........yet exciting. Hmmmm. The things we do in the name of progress!

                                                   Again, thanks

Gyro flop is probably a term from yoyoing. Try hitting a wrap or two to bearing diabolo and pull it real tight. Diabolo will turn around in a gyroscope kinda way. Bearing makes life easier on that. I think i can occasionally hit 180 turn with fixed axles. Of course doing that changes the spin direction for player. That's something to watch out if one is not used to ambidextrous play. 360 gyro flops are usually the way to go. ;)

Does anybody know how to do the stringstall trick in vertax. I know you have both sticks in 1 hand, and u hold out the string and pull it tight.
Also, is there any other basic vertax tricks? All I can do is a stopover and a crossed stick sun over the head.

There are almost endless sun combos that can be done.  Whip catches are hard but their concepts are easy.  You can see some basic excalibur tricks in this video at 2:37

Is there a certain diabolo that is good for vertax? I want to learn UFO grinds, but I think that it will scratch my Finesse diabolo.

finesse are great for ufo-grinds and dont be scared of a few scratches... it wont make a difference. If i am right then sundias are good for ufo too?

I 'inspected' you suns last friday, and I didn't see the same bolts in the cups as in mine. Pretty weird, but should make the grinds a bit more easy.
Meh,
