What's a swinging fan. It's come up a couple of time and I don't know what it is.

Anyone?

You know how a fan is basically an async sun? A swinging fan is going from a fan to doin a sun on each side whilst keeping the fan motion going.

Can anyone give any advice on how to make the fans or s-fans last longer? I know sfans can go forever, but mine only go for about 1-3 full cycles then terminate. Any advice on keeping it going?

Dracodragon, this thread is on the swinging fan, not the regular fan or s-fan. Have a look through these threads for some ideas:

Feel free to post there if you're still having problems. There are some other fan threads in the trick and video archive sticky that might be of help.

With regards to the swinging fan, maybe this will help: I have a video of Priam at the Toulouse festival last year showing off the swinging fan shortly after he discovered it. I still can't get it to work... John, on the other hand, is a competent disciple of the Priam's swinging fan technique.

Hehe, not quite as competent as I'd like tho, can only do it right sun to left and not both that and left to right as I'd like    And its still not solid while lying down :( O well, back to practisin I guess  :D

Another example of the swinging fan I've seen,
http://diabolumberto.free.fr/belge_team.htm
Of the 4 Belgians that put together a rather good video in tribute to Diabology.  At 2:26 or so, you see one of the guys (Martin) do a swinging fan.  Though I'm not sure if he did it from an s-fan or a normal fan.  I thought I'd give it a go and just swing madly.  Worked for a lil bit while everyone else backs away from you.
