I saw this video on youtube about 1 hour a go i gave Tomicide a try but i can't do it i am just trying to get used to the gently puttin the string over the axle if you know what i mean. Like all your tutorials it is good and very detailed which is great for me. Do you plan on doing more 1D tutorials?

Thanks

PS. if i do a Tomicide from and inverse trapeze suicide will it work the same because when i do an inverse trapeze suicide i get a wrap and on the sun suicide i don't does that make a difference to the tomicide?

There are so many ways to do the tomicide, I'll have to make a tutorial to show the ways I do them.

Like Todd said, there are HEAPS of ways to get into the Tomicide - this is just one version (the one I like the most and think flows the best).

Yeah - as I mentioned in the video, think about each step separately - don't get too stressed by looking at the overall trick, just break it down :)

It's pretty hard to get a nice, clean, slow wrap over the axle, so maybe just concentrate on that for now.   Also, smooth string can make it easier (really rough string is tough with this trick)

Yep, I plan on doing heaps more tuts - I love doing them :)

I too am really struggling with this version of tomicide :(

It all seems to be happening really fast and i am finding it hard to catch the right handstick with my left hand in time just after i have pulled up on the string! Would anyone be kind enough to clarify a couple of points for me please?

 - how fast should i be swinging the right handstick around the axle (i use henrys aluminium handsticks)
 - whenever i have managed to catch the right handstick in my left hand, the left handstick just seems to wrap at such high speeds and i can't seem to control it.

I have searched the forum for advice but nothing seems to cover what i'm looking for. Please help. Thanks

p.s. if there are any tricks that might help me build up to this then just let me know

1st point: the sticks don't need a lot of speed to get over the axle; a slow, comfortable speed is best.
2nd point: the stick is wrapping because you let it pass an extra time, and it passes on the wrong side of the string[nb]When on a right backside, put on a left wrap or right frontwrap, and you'll see what i mean, reverse the left/right for left backside.[/nb], causing a knot which doesn't slow the stick at all.

Thanks Icebox, i'll put these points into practice and see how i go. its weird how i have only pulled this move off once and that was when  i'd had a bit too much to drink. Maybe i'm just not drinking enough!!!!

Newer/slippery string might be better for this trick when you're starting out.

Also, don't swing the stick over too fast

If you look at the date it was made, it was here about a year ago.

so i've spent the last 4 days practicing this and i must say i can perform it nice and smooth but i still can't catch the last handstick (original left stick) with my right hand!!!!! To say its driving me insane is one hell of an understatement  :'(

I now wrap the string over the axle nice and slow which really helps but when i catch the right handstick with my left hand and let go of the string, i don't seem to have enough momentum for the remaining stick to go round once more and be caught.

You make it look too easy in the tutorial, any idea where i'm going wrong?

Thanks

Are you lifting the string with your right hand? This give both sticks more momentum.

Might also help if you posted a video.

ive only just learned this trick from this tut and had the same problem with the sticks going to fast so all i do is put the diabolo on the string and do 3 chinese acceleration whips. this gives the diabolo enough speed to do the trick and slows the sticks down a bit which makes it easier to catch. the other thing is dont pull your left hand (with the right stick in your hand) up to hard as this will cause the stick to go faster (i learned by not pulling on the string) but you sometimes need to pull to stop your stick hitting the ground. if you did the trick right you hands will be crossed do a sun (to uncross your hands) and throw the diabolo up
if you are in Guernsey (channel island) and do diabolo let me know
