Continuous Mini-Genocide

I have seen Tim Ellis' tutorial and i dont know what it is taking about it mentions putting a left or right backwrap on the diabolo then pinch the string and pull up.
I dont understand cause my diabolo doesnt pop up like his does when he does it.
Does anyone understand what i am going on about???

I had the same problem when learning normal minigenocides. What's happened is that the stick has passed on the wrong side of the string, and is getting tangled up, or you aren't pulling up soon enough, and the diabolo just drops straight down instead of hopping up. If it's the string problem, pay more attention to the angle you're releasing the stick at.
