Bigoud'N Jongle in Rennes (france)
« on: February 26, 2010, 09:53:47 AM »
Hey,

Last year, this convention was a huge success, for the first time last
year some people came from all europ (UK, Finland, Switzerland, Italy...).

This April, the "Bigoud'N Jongle" convention strikes back this year, from
22nd to 25th.

4 days near Rennes, in a perfect place (3 gyms, acres of grass, ...) as you can see :

The price is still 25 euros for 4 days, including breakfast, welcome
drink, shows, access to a dormitory-gym, etc...

The programm is still to be fully announced, but some names have already been told :
Komei Aoki will be there, as regards diabolo, Norbert (diabolux), and Nate and Jacob Sharpe will be on stage and do some workshops.

As told above, there is a gym dedicated to sleeping, and a camping next to
it.

Local organic food (free price) and local specialities (crepes, cider,
local beer)will be served 24 hours a day, as usual.

I come back in a couple of days to tell the rest of the shows, and precise
the pre-reg stuff.

See you in Rennes!

I'd be up for it if I have enough money nearer the time.

Is there anyone from the east side of France (Alsace, Voges, Franche-comté,...) that would be going to the festival?

Hi there!

Here is a few instruction for those who want to pre-reg :

if you've got a check in euros, you can send a mail to
jongle.et.rit@free.fr with name, first name and town (or country if you're
not french), and then send a 21euros check at

Association Jongle et Rit
chez Benoît EVANO
35 l’Hermitière
35230 ORGÈRES
France

You'll get a confirmation mail when your check will arrive.

For the british folks or any other country that is outside eurozone, juste
send the mail saying where you're from and you'll pay when you arrive.

And here's the names of the other artists that will be here :
Komei Aoki
Wes Peden
Nate and Jacob Sharpe
Joelle Huguenin
Frida
Christoph Baumer
Cie Mandalight (fire show)
Cie Tout par terre
Cie Tricoterie et compagnie (bubble show)
La mini compagnie (accrobatics)
Diabolux (Norbert)

See you soon in Rennes!

Would anyone be able to pick a few of us Brits up from the airport and/or drop us back? How easy and how cheap is it to get the the convention sight from Dinard airport? (which seems to be the closest place to fly to thats cheap) We could also fly to Nantes if that makes if easier in anyway?!

Hi,

From dinard or from Nantes, hitch-hicking is quite efficient. More easy, perhaps from Nantes where there is a great spot to start.

But if hitch hiking is not an option, maybe you'll find some carpooling from nantes. I advice you to start a topic here to find a carpool, a lot of people coming from the south are going through Nantes : http://www.jongle.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=26

Other solution : there are buses from dinard to rennes, they are cheap (less than 10 maybe less than 5 Euros), but heck they are slow!

If any solution interests anyone, I can give more details, I'll come anyway to tell you how to come from Rennes to the conv' site.

At least for us will be there, mysefl, jonny, hath and toby are driving over early thursday so we should be there for early afternoon.  I've been asking some close mates if they want to take up the spare seat but no one seems 100% certain yet.  If you're free from the 22nd till the 26th, have a passport, some petrol money and can get down towards Kent for wednesday night then let us know, we may just throw you in the back with the hairy ones.

This is gonna be amazing.

Dave, with fuel charges and extra passengers, the return ferry will be £51.  It'd leave at 4am Thursday morning and leave bang on midnight on Sunday.  Sound good?  I sent an email to the contact to say we're coming too so all thats sorted.

For everyone else, we're still desperate to find another passenger to share the cost of the journey.  It wont cost more than £60 return including the ferry and petrol money.  We're leaving early Thursday and coming back late Sunday from Tonbridge, Kent.  Let us know in this thread if you're interested.

I am gutted beyond belief. For some reason I managed to mix up the dates of my exams so really I could have easily come to this with the spare seat in the car.

Agreed.  It was great to finally meet some of you we had never met before.  Great food, great weather, and great diaboloists.  The siteswap shirt session was great, as was just hanging out and fooling around.  Crazy that these days you can walk into the gym and see literally a handful of people having successful attempts/runs of 4...

Just wanted to quickly chip in since im back online in my new place.  The best convention I've been to in the past 3 years.  Perfect site, incredible standard, almost too good and a crazy show at the end all for 25 euros!!

I'm a definite for next year as long as its the same site, if not, one as good as.  Cheers for the translations crackers :)
