I'm getting "video unavailable" for all those links. Searching YT for "calljuggler" does bring up some working vids though. Got the direct links? Or the title of the video that won?

I think I remember Nathan telling me "Luke and I gave up on that competition ages ago", so I wonder if it actually was Luke's decision or not.

That winning video is a funny video (cause he's an idiot and almost kills himself with his own stupidity), but I can't see how it is related to juggling at all.

I too would be interested to see how that can win over people who put time and effort into their videos.

Luke, fancy justifying your decision? I'm just interested to know why it was chosen as the winner, I'm baffled.
Looking forward to that too Looby but I am not sure it will come...

I see what happened: it seems that all videos related to the contest have been released from the Calljuggler channel after the message I just sent them yesterday. Here's the direct links again to:
the winning video of the bombing guy Calljuggler - Serious juggling: CallJuggler.com - Serious Juggling.mp4
my friend Mike and his contact juggling: Calljuggler.com - Contact Ball with Mickael Performer
the california girl: calljuggler.com - california girl!
Hope it works this time!

I am pretty amazed that Nathan could have say such a thing as they organized and announced this contest really officially, and that some very clear rules were mentioned on the Calljuggler website till a few weeks ago. Making a flop with a contest because of a lack of participants is a thing, but respecting the few ones who showed interest in it is another one. I just see there an unbelievable insulting joke and and lack of credibility for them as businessmen, jugglers and people.

See you guys and thanks for the support!

Am I missing something? The winning video was a bloke playing with a 'grenade' and a poorly put in punch line as an after thought?

You think its real? Mental.

Nico you should feel disappointed, you took a bit of pride in a video and presented it in a nice fashion as did your friend and I am sure many others did also, only to be mocked. Unless this is the real joke in itself? Cracking idea to do something nice for the juggling community and try to organise such a competition, even better idea to chortle at them as an outcome.

what does it matter if it's real - the point I was making was that it's a funny/stupid video - that's all

Yup, it was officially written on the Calljuggler channel till they removed all trace of the contest after I sent them a message 2 days ago. Here's the message they sent me (the link is dead now):

Hi Nicholas
Thanks for your enquiry. The overall winner was the July entry irodeludo
This announcement was posted on the Calljuggler channel see link below

http://www.youtube.com/user/calljuggler?feature=mhum

The competition was closed in August.

We hope you are enjoying your ipod. (I did receive that Ipod, all the finalists got one. But I don't like the way of reminding me this so I can "accept" more easily that they've been fooling us)

Kind regards

Calljuggler

An hypothesis of mine is that they announce this guy as a winner, but that they simply didn't even contact him to offer him the 2 world tickets. Obviously when this guy uploaded that video, he was not expecting to be the final winner (unless he's a friend of Luke and Nathan), so I don't think he's been even trying to find out about the final results. Maybe this big prize has just been purely canceled.
Luke come on say a word there!

Hey guys,

I was involved in this competition at the start, but haven't been updated since February. I wasn't asked to judge the competition, nor did I know a winner had been picked without me. Now, I was holding off making any comments to anyone about this, because I'm still trying to get my final payment for the work that I did on this (about 2,000 euro) and was trying to avoid a fuss. I know Nathan is in the same position.

To be honest, I have avoided watching any of the video entries to the competition, the idea being when I was asked to judge them, I could watch them all in order, and make the most objective decision I could. In that regards, I'm not going to (yet) make a comment about the winner as picked by whoever judged this competition in the end, nor on the quality of the other entries. If I can't get this sorted to my satisfaction, I'll personally judge all the entries and award a prize to the video I enjoy the most. I'm not sure what the prize will be yet, but it'll hopefully show I'm not disregarding other jugglers and video makers entirely.

Catch you later,

Luke B.

Thats pretty grim Luke. Cheers for letting us in on some of the info then, and its a shame about how they have played with you like an action man! I hope you get paid an all!

For me it seems that they didn't want to give the prize to a juggler because jugglers are bad people that didn't want to participate in their competition. So they might have uploaded his own master piece to (hypothetically) keep the money for themselves. If I am right, Luke might not be paid either, something that I guess you were already suspecting after having no news from them since February... In addition this kind of actions gives you (the company, not Luke, of course) bad publicity that is better than no publicity at all...
Of course I am not defaming or any****, I am just giving my opinion about what I think could be an explanation of such ... thing. I have no proofs nor I have read the rules of the contest. Hopefully they will give a public explanation or just say: 'we liked the grenade thing'
Apologies for being tough but this is what it seems to me, really hope to be wrong.
I liked a lot the video of the California girl.
