one day i saw a flower stick and i thought that i didn't did something special. so i saw some interest in diabolo and started learning

i like the gratification of learning a knew trick and then mastering the trick, i also like that there always going to be more tricks to learn.

i have twice in my school.

my favorite diabolos are sundia shining fixed, finesse. i like sundia string and i also like sundia carbons

A friend had one that I randomly started messing around with, and happened across a shop that sold them about a fortnight later.

3. What do you like best about the diabolo or juggling in general?
I like the exotic nature of it, and the ability to show off because of this.  Everyone's seen someone juggling a few clubs, but not enough people have seen diabolo.

4. How many hours a day do you diabolo on average?
Depends.  Lately, it's been about 2/day.

5. Do you ever perform with the diabolo?
Yes.  In addition to just practicing in public areas, I have worked at The Ohio Renaissance Festival for a vendor (who I bought my first diabolo from).  Also, I hope to be able to juggle for the Cincinnati Circus Company (www.cincinnaticircus.com) within a couple weeks.

6. Do you juggle other props?
Yep.  Since I worked for a vendor, I learned balls, clubs, rings, knives, flower sticks, and a bit of poi.

7. What are your favourite diabolos, sticks, and string?
Sundia Shining (Triple Bearing), Henry's Carbon (long), Euro Diabolo String (yellow)

8. Do you like working with 1, 2, or 3 diabolos the best?
One.  Despite being a long time diabolist, I have not ever put much time into learning two.  It seems likely that I will this summer, though.

9. What is your favourite diabolo trick that you can do?
Whip catches.  I've been working to perfect them behind the back, under the leg, without looking... pretty much any conceivable way to whip catch.

10. What is the most amazing diabolo trick you've ever seen done?
Probably one of the integral combos on a video somewhere.  Some of those are just insane.

11. What tricks are driving you nuts right now (what are you working on)?
Excalibur Genocides.  I can only hit them about 15% of the time right now, and never when other people are watching.  Other than that, I'm trying to increase my fluidity and create/learn more combos, particularly body combos.

Most notably, Nate and Jacob Sharpe, and Ryo Yabe, to a lesser extent.

hi im new to the forum, but been reading some of the stuff over the last week or 2

1. i have had my own diabolo for around 1 and a half years (i think)

2. our family friends daughter had one i picked it up, she taught me a rough idea of what to do and i was a natural 

3. i just really enjoy it. it gives me sonething to do, great fun, introduced it to my friends, the acheivement you get when you finally land a trick, and much more

4. hours a day, i cant answer, but hours a week is anything between 1 to possible 5 or 6

5. not yet, but im planning to go busking (thats what its called in scotland) in central park when i go this summer.

6. i own a set of devil sticks, though im not very good.  at all.  i do juggle aswell, but only the 3 ball cascade which still is a bit rough.

7. i have 1 cheap small diabolo which is awful, 1 diabolo by eolo.com, my first one, and two henrys jazz. my favourite out of them is the henrys jazz.  i use henrys green string at the moment, but im switching once it runs out.  ive got mr babache carbon contrast short tricks, which i loooove

8. at the moment, 1 cause im learning a lot more tricks on it, (genocides, mini genosides, tomicides) and things like that.  im still trying to learn 2, and im getting better at 2 every day.

10.  some of the ones in the finnish guy's videos (joona arttu ect.)  they are rediculously good #

Seeing a entertainer at Butlins and begging my mum to buy me one. Recently my wife bought me a diabolo for Fathers day after hearing about my previous experience.

Absolutely everything. The patience required to pull off a trick, the way whilst practicing you can forget about all your worries.
