2. What or who got you started? It was just one day in 7th grade, I was forever changed.

Sounds like Jester Games visited your middle school. I just started teaching with this program too. If you're in the SF Bay Area let me know!

1. How many years have you diaboloed for?
.5

2. What or who got you started?
I just enjoyed watching the prop, and wanted to do it myself. I mainly watched the diabolo.ca collab videos, actually.

3. What do you like best about the diabolo or juggling in general?
How happy it makes small children. They love it.

4. How many hours a day do you diabolo on average?
30 minutes

5. Do you ever perform with the diabolo?
Nope. I'm nowhere good enough to perform yet.

6. Do you juggle other props? If so: balls, clubs, rings, cigar boxes, devil sticks... ?
Balls and Clubs at an introductory level. I'd love to make diabolo my focus.

7. What are your favourite diabolos, sticks, and string?
I use 2 Henry's Circus diabolos.

8. Do you like working with 1, 2, or 3 diabolos the best?
I'm working on 2, currently.

9. What is your favourite diabolo trick that you can do?
N/A

10. What is the most amazing diabolo trick you've ever seen done?
Not sure.

11. What tricks are driving you nuts right now (what are you working on)?
Just being able to shuffle, accelerate, and correct 2 diabolos. It's difficult.

12. What other diaboloists have inspired you?
Anyone on this site!

1. How many years have you diaboloed for?
I started when I was 16. I'm coming back from a 10 year long break, so about 7 years.
I used to be Tiamat on this forum. This is the only video I did at the time :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIQdT1OdzYU

2. What or who got you started?
Saw this on TV (was a different music, but the tricks were the same), thought it was cool and bought 2 diabolos the next day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAPRzxrcN1c

3. What do you like best about the diabolo or juggling in general?
That feeling when you finally learn a new trick or when you create something new.
I also love the sharing and learning during conventions.

4. How many hours a day do you diabolo on average?
Half an hour max.

5. Do you ever perform with the diabolo?
I did once.

6. Do you juggle other props? If so: balls, clubs, rings, cigar boxes, devil sticks... ?
A bit of cigar boxes, but I'm not very good at it. Maybe because I use them more as a tripod for my camera than as juggling props  :embarassed:

7. What are your favourite diabolos, sticks, and string?
JuggleDream Typhoon
DEOS carbon fibre
Henry's white

8. Do you like working with 1, 2, or 3 diabolos the best?
I love working with 1, like working with 2 and 3d hates working with me!

9. What is your favourite diabolo trick that you can do?
Behind the back genocide.

10. What is the most amazing diabolo trick you've ever seen done?
The 360 arm mini-genocide thing by Etienne in this video ( at 1:35 )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFjDJK5SvtY

11. What tricks are driving you nuts right now (what are you working on)?
3 diabolos

12. What other diaboloists have inspired you?
The complete list would be every diaboloist I've seen on video or IRL.
My favourite ones would be Wis, Judith Both and Arthur Hyam.

WELCOME BACK, CLO!!!

You can't imagine how many times I have told people about your 2D full genocide, and how much time it took me to find you video all these times.

I see you uploaded Sagnat to youtube, here the original in j.tv. Exactly 10 years of difference (error +- 16 days)

1. How many years have you diaboloed for?

Beginner here. Started learning in December 2020, so I'm very new to it all. Haven't done much since January, so am looking to get back into it.

2. What or who got you started?

Curiosity, interest in flow arts, and a desire to improve at something through practice. First discovered the diabolo when I was in China; been wanting to learn it since then!

Hello !

Location: USA, Minneapolis
Age: 29

1. How many years have you diaboloed for?
13, although only really started about 6 months ago.

2. What or who got you started?
Was given one ages ago and just started playing.

3. What do you like best about the diabolo or juggling in general?
I mainly do diabolo and 3 ball/club juggling, but I find diabolo the most versatile - its movements seem to sometimes turn into devil sticks, poi, conventional juggling... seems nearly endless!

7. What are your favourite diabolos, sticks, and string?
So far, I just have 2 blue MB Galaxies (and a really old yoho small one) with the sticks and string that came with the yoho (13 years still holding fairly well... it may be telling of how much I've used it over the years). The Galaxies are the only 'known' ones I have and know (and even then, they seem unknown), so I have nothing else to judge by. I recently made my own wooden sticks and used 2mm blinds string from the hardware store, and after a few tests, seems to be more effective than the string I've used in the past, they're now my main sticks.

8. Do you like working with 1, 2, or 3 diabolos the best?
I'm developing my skills with 1, learning to start and correct 2... 3 is a long way off!

9. What is your favourite diabolo trick that you can do?
Just learnt how to genocide!

11. What tricks are driving you nuts right now (what are you working on)?
Currently learning the tomicide, with many bruises.

12. What other diaboloists have inspired you?
All the people and posts here on diabolo.ca!

Welcome! Personally I think ball juggling is a lot more versatile than diabolo due to not needing specialized equipment, but diabolo is still fun of course. I would advise getting metal/carbon fiber sticks because the way wooden sticks are designed (a hole through one end of the stick) limits your ability to perform certain tricks.

Introduce yourself (back from the dead) Amsterdam NL

I'm back from the dead. My last post was in 2011.

After a 10+ year break my diabolo craving started to increase so I bought myself 2 new diabs for my 34th birthday last week.
I upgraded from my old Henry's Circus to Sundia Evolution, did not know that diabolo's could feel this smooth!

I had a blast with them last Wednesday when I went to the local juggling club here in Amsterdam.
It brought me back into the amazing diabolo vibes from years ago and this awesome online community also came to mind.
And diabolo.ca is still going strong! How awesome is that!

It's great to be back!

Shoutout to any diabolo players from Amsterdam!
epicness commits
