I found with my circuses that over time the cups lose the sort of brushed finish they have when they are new and they don't transfer colour so easily. When i got my first circuses i didn't clean every few days just to get a few marks off. I used them for ages and then cleaned it all off. SO unless you want them to look especially good i wouldn't bother cleaning them too often. But if you want to go ahead, it doesn't make a dfference to the diabolo i don't think.

now why the hell would you want to do that. not like it really matters to you, the performer/user, but if you're trying to colormatch for a crowd, trust me they wont know the difference

hah ... its the difference of feel between the new and the old ones.. like if i use an old and a new together the surface of the new feels way different as far as correcting and such..

hmm, weird. i never noticed that. i have my old(er) red circus which is worn down from much concrete practice, and a newer white one that has had all indoor and grass, so the white is smooth and the red is very rough....they really seem the same to me. just keep using them, it will even out.

right now im using methalated spirits (the purple stuff) on kitchen roll to brush my 2 white finesses, then rub over them with one of the yellow sponges with an abravise top as metioned earlier. its working quite well. anyone else ever use this method?

I've found that Brasso that comes in soaked wool format is mega effective. I used to use it to fix Cd's that were too scratched play anymore, but it also works wonders on a circus or a finesse. It also removes the glossy finish from a new circus with a bit of elbow grease.

i got bored of using meths, and my mum recommended flash, the cleaning liquid, that worked insanely well, you can see the dirt going away.

to clean your diabolos is thinners! put some on a rag wipe the diabolo then get another rag wipe the thinners off! then leave to dry for few mins!
then u will have new looking diabolos again!
if your diabolos are really dirty!you can leave the thinners on the diabolos for abit but make sure that you wipe it off after

I saw the effect of Jammy's technique on Ginger Tom's white G2.
I must admit it is impressive! The acetone nail varnish remover technique does work well too. I've just completed one cup of my (not so filthy) orange G2 and I've learned a few things:
cleaning products not to be used:
-Cillit Bang
-Kaboom bathroom cleaner
-window cleaning solution
-Swarfega
Also, do not put acetone straight onto a scouring pad, as i have found out in this light-headed state.

Oooo, what would Barry Scott say? Have you seen what it can do to a penny?
I've not tried this, nor actually tried to clean my diabolos ever, but I hear cola works quite well. Possibly the fizzier brands are better. Just remember to wash it all off afterwards, or you could end up with mouldy cups...

I decided to clean my Circusses, and they turned out really clean
I cleaned them, because next weekend are the Dutch juggling championchips, and my diabs have to look nice then. (sorry if the pics are a bit too big for you)
